You will never get the votes needed for membership in the SEC and beside that your fan base has been saying for years that Texas would never join the SEC...so which is it? Looks like your choices will be the PAC or Big Ten, the Big 12 won't be around when the conference GOR's expire. Absolutely, no way ESPN will be at the table this next time. The SEC doesn't need your kind of business.runontexas said:
Since this is a business, they're going to want UT even at the expense of A&M....
OU second
Since this is a business they already have the Texas market courtesy A&M and have grown to love their new conference mate. Tsip arrogance and entitlement combined with bringing NOTHING new to the table is a non-starter. Of course them even being in the discussion would require A&M, Arkansas, Mizzou, LSU, Florida, Georgia and USC to vote against their business interests.runontexas said:

Yes SDS is an Aggie-trolling click bait. Stop feeding the troll and it will move on.pepe the dog said:

If you added OU only you would have Texas fans watching just like they watch A&M now. The SEC already owns the Houston and the East Texas(sliver) market and Austin is one of the SEC's top markets when it comes to viewers. Why add Texas?Your Friend said:fistofsouth said:Since this is a business they already have the Texas market courtesy A&M and have grown to love their new conference mate. Because cable television as we know it will soon be obsolete, we need to stop thinking in terms of regional markets when discussing conference network deals. Conference networks will be web-based, and therefore measured by individual subscribers as opposed to measured by regions. Given UT's enormous fanbase, you can bet the SEC will consider them as an option.

We keep hearing this from the tu side but no one can actually quantify the value that tu would actually add. There is little, if any, value they could add to the SECN. Can you please explain how tu would add 40+ million annually to the SEC coffers? Otherwise, there is little to discuss on that subject.Your Friend said:MSU/SECALUM said:If you added OU only you would have Texas fans watching just like they watch A&M now. Yes there are a lot of Aggie in Houston and Austin, but there are a lot more Texas fans. In fact, based on merchandise sales, there are more UT fans than there are at any current SEC school. Why add Texas? Because they bring massive value, no matter which way you slice it.
