Yes, President Fenves can use his newly appointed powers to waive the university's admission requirements for the poor African-American kid from Cypress.......similar to what his predecessor did for all those rich white kids from Highland Park. Or not so similar.

I thought that was a state law requirement?? Fenves can't just waive that and still have him eligible under the NCAA rules, can he?? Not to mention the Big XII's rules. Partial qualifiers were prohibited long ago.

Yes, I agree. I believe 2 years of the same foreign language is required to be admitted to a public university in Texas.

In a way, they're doing him a favor this way. He'll be elegible tomorrow at OU - no transfer sit out rules or nothing. His NLI is straight up voided and Texas high school football players have found a new way to short circuit the system when the college coaches lie to them.

That must be a new rule. Back in my day (damn that makes me sound old), it depended on your major if the FL was required.

    Which begs the question: What accountability and punishments were handed down to the Utex football program after the Utex coaching staff lied to Lampkin?

      If I was a coach, I'd advise my star players to plan on taking the 2nd language requirement their last semester for this exact reason.
