New closer. Oh, and the Cleveland pitcher who started the game was from tech.

The tech pitcher pitched well.

As much money as I'm making off this team, you are incorrect, sir

jorts is ready to outright his all-star closer and reigning rookie of the year b/c he's not pitching his best right now.

if law doesnt work out, there should be a spot for you in the Astros front office

Yea, right. Dorchens sports livelihood is resting solely on the shoulders of the Rangers. He has absolutely jack **** else to be excited for this fall.

You mean the all star closer with the 6 blown saves and 4.00 era?

Yeah, it may be a good time to give the new guy a shot who required 7 filthy pitches to get the final 3 outs last night.

Remember when you used to send me your baseball plays and we'd both make money?

how funny will it be when Tech pulls in James Willis, fresh off a national championship as Associate Head Coach, Linebackers coach, and Director of Recruiting for the #1 defense in the nation and a Top 5 defense each of the past 3 years...and A&M hires the guy from Air Force.

aggies with all their money, tradition, and history get stuck with a guy who did pretty good at a service academy. meanwhile Tech steals the Associate Head coach and head of recruiting from the top defense in the nation and the reigning national champions.

it amazes me that you dont see WHY i start threads like this. you constantly run your mouth and then we beat you. in every sport.

so maybe you'll quit running your ****king mouth someday.

or maybe you wont. i certainly wouldnt peg humility as one of your strong suits.

Love the hire.

You honestly think a defensive guy like Tubs is going to make a bad decision on who gets to help him run the D? This is the first guy he went after when he got hired. I think I trust his judgement.

And now we have a young, fired up black man with 7 years in the NFL and a 2009 BCS championship ring to go sit in kids' living rooms and convince them to come play the 3-4.

Yeah, I'm real worried.

And Dorchen...the Astros are where they are for holding onto players too long past any semblance of market value.

Your comparison isn't just inaccurate. It's exactly opposite.

I dont disagree. But you were talking trade proposals yesterday.

Damn right. Because I know this game. Been around this game.

Bookmark it. He'll have moderate success as a closer again, but teams catch up with a 96 mph fastball when it's all you are throwing and it's down the center of the plate.

nefti's trade value was at a high before the season. if he finishes with any semblance of decency, it's time to move him.
Lou Dorchen

dude, he's 23.

If the kid didnt have any real upside, then I'd see your point.

Mariano Rivera was a starter at 25 with an ERA damn near 6.00.
