The Ag defense is stout, no denying that. But holding the techies to just 12 points last year didn't get them very far.

Tech will score more than 12 this year. I'd put money on that, too.

techguy, I believe tech can put more than 12 on the board if our offense sucks and gives up the football. However, I doubt they will put up 12 on our defense with no turnovers by the "O".

Now I don't think Tech will rival Spurrier's Florida offense. I am a very reserved, if not skeptical, Tech fan. But from what I can tell, I think Tech will be able to score 12 on just about anybody this year. Not being sure of the D, I'm not willing to predict 9 or 10 wins yet. But I don't think offense will be a problem. At all.

techguy, Your offense will be awesome...no arguement here whatsoever. I do believe the defenses of A&M(at Kyle) and t.u. will be hard to move against. It should be fun!

No doubt atm will be one of the toughest (if not THE toughest) defenses. I don't see Tech rollin' up 40 points either. But I reckon the ags better score at least in the upper 20s to win this one. I have no idea what to expect against UT. We beat em 3 row in the 90's when we weren't supposed to. Beat em in Lubbock a few years back when we had no business on the same field. It was supposed to be interesting the last couple of years and Tech didn't even show up. I wouldn't bet on that game regardless of the spread.

technological's offense will be awesome when they get a running game to go with their 3 yard downfield pass. They need an S back like Houston had to complete the package: Witherspoon. One year they had two 1,000 yard receivers and a 1,000 yard rusher, which enables the offense to really spread the field and thin out the defense.

Gentlemen, the time has come when I have to admit I agree with 13 0 Branding Iron. We need a running game or "S" Back to complete the package of the N.A.O. It is an ingredient that has been sadly lacking during Leach's tenure. For whatever reason, whether it was Ricky Williams' knee injury still bothering him or Leach not emphasizing the running game, the lack of it has hampered the offense.

We need a running game this season; it's the last piece of the puzzle for BigXII dominance.

Bag, is there something in that statement of mine you don't agree with? I'm confused...

The real reason is you have the wrong type of player back there physically. An S back in that offense needs to look like a bowling ball, be extremely fast and still have good hands. sLeach should be scouring the high schools for a Chuck Witherspoon look alike, about 5-10 225 that can still run a 4.5 40 and catch the ball.

The sets require a good blocker in the S back or you can't throw deep, which is one of the reasons technological only throws outs, slants and curls. There are only eight running plays in the entire offense, so the SB doesn't have to be a genius, either... that should fit in well at technological. Sometimes I think sLeach doesn't know his own offense, or he'd have found one of these RB/FB tweeners that make the whole thing go by now.

I don;t even know how to answer that question. uh, I guess I will start with my own questions.

1. Was this a serious analysis
2. Were you high when you wrote it?
3. Are you really that stupid to not realize that you got your ass handed to you by the sips?
4. Do you really believe that KK will win the Heisman when itt goes 4-9?
5. Do you really expect to beat OSU easily?
6. Did you ride the short bus to Lubbock high?
7. Do you really believe in 42-7 Moral victories?
8. Do you really think beating OkieSU is anything to brag about?

2. No, I've never been "high" in my life.
3. I'm not that stupid. We didn't get our a** handed to us by the sips, we handed our a** to them with our fourth down attempts and all.
4. KK will not win the Heisman if Tech goes 4-9. How idiotic would that be? But KK has a chance if Tech goes 10-3 and wins the BigXII Championship.
5. I believe OSU is still in the rebuilding stages. They have a great coach in Tressell but their QB situation is still up in the air. I think Tech has a very strong chance of beating the Buckeyes this year.
6. I rode a limo to Lubbock High, my friend.
7. I don't believe in 42-7 moral victories. I also don't believe that scoreboard tells the whole story.
8. Beating Okie State was nothing to brag about until they beat the Sooners. Throws a little validity in there, my friend.

BI, I also remember C-Spoon being quite a threat in that offense. It would be a huge benefit to be able to hand off to a bruiser to at least get the LOS pileup to move forward. Tech has a guy (Bongo Wanga) who is somewhat Witherspoon-like. It remains to be seen if he can play or not. Regardless, I think the problem has been with run blocking and not necessarily the RB.

I think it's funny that tech had to scratch and claw to score 3 field goals and a trash touchdown at home against "the Wrecking Crew". Now they are coming to Kyle Field, where tu only scored 14 last season, and expect to score more than 12 points against a defense that is a year older and deeper!

Oh, by the way, 42-7 isn't even worth trying to justify by statistics.
