Seriously its a ridiculous house with tons of African taxidermy in midland. What else could you have possibly thought I meant.

There is more to Midland than just O&G. I know quite a few people there with African mounts that do not work in O&G (including some of my family members). My apologies for thinking you may be basing your assessment off of actual knowledge of the area rather than what most people assume is the only industry there.

I think that one wins the thread. It's like they took every popular home decorating trend from the last 30 years and threw them all together in that house.

I counted 60 pendant light fixtures just in the pictures. That's at least one for every 200 sq ft!

You'd have to really try hard to make a house more awful than that.

Perfect example of how some houses would benefit from showing empty.

Wow it's almost like you have to intentionally try to fail to come up with something that bad! Fixtures, furnishings, cabinets, shower layout, ... none of it makes sense on its own and definitely not put together. Somebody's designer was definitely a yes man or the client is Barnes level of difficult or stupid to deal with.

The indoor pool is kind of cool though, I'll give them that.

The indoor pool is because it's Midland and outside it would just be a sandpit.

You ask a rhetorical question about midland, she answers with "O&G, everything there's pretty much O&G", you say no crap and she then lectures about how midland actually isn't all O&G, and she's upset because she thought you wanted to have a serious, in depth discussion about Midland demographics.

Yeah, I bet the 'completely separate industries' are probably finance, legal or medical. I wonder what industry is on the other side of all those transactions, paying for those services.

I said that area of town is pretty much O&G. Its a new area that has always been "across the tracks" in the Greenwood area, but in the past 5-10 years was developed and primarily settled by O&G corporate/management.

No. The second largest industry in the area is farming and ranching.

It looks like a dump all around, the curb appeal is nil, its in a giant desert in the middle of nowhere, but yeah the unexpected roommate Boulder taking up an entire room is really the topper.

A "charming farmhouse" that is awkwardly surrounded by church property and a disc golf course near my house. Always wondered what the inside looked like. Built in 1907 and this is its first time on the market. Clearly priced for the lot to be subdivided, but man .... how do you call this place "charming" with a straight face?

Looks like it was last remodeled prior to the end of the war. Cool built-ins, but I'm BSC enough to have a go at cleaning everything up and trying to restore what's there rather than pull it all out and trash everything.

100% someone has been murdered in that basement.

Take the sink, scavenge the wood off the walls/furniture in the upstairs room, burn the rest.

This one actually made me say WTF out loud. I don't know what is going on in this one or what the "designers" were thinking.

"All new kitchen appliances installed in 2017". So they are 3-4 years old and used?

I just ~love~ it when people say they have a stained concrete floor - like it's some sort of "design feature" - when all they did was tear up all the old flooring and paint the slab.

What you really did was rip up an old/ugly floor and were too cheap to put down a proper new one.

Stained concrete floors are actually really hard to do correctly (so that it looks nice), and the process starts when you pour the slab.

That house is truly amazing! It might be the first one I've seen posted where there's not a stick of trim, door, fixture, kitchen cabinet, or vanity that I wouldn't redo. The master shower is a real sh*t show with the niche put in at foot height and the cheap ceramic tile installed without bullnose trim (translation: you can see the brown material in the center of the tile on corners).

This vanity mirror is perfect for ugly people who don't want to see very much of themselves.

If you're gonna cheap out on the tile you might as well make it obvious. Also make sure all your light bulbs work FFS.
