Women's Basketball Set to Take on No. 7 LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. The Texas A&M women's basketball team is set to face off against No. 7 LSU inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Texas A&M (13-2, 1-1 SEC) is coming off a decisive 22-point victory over Auburn (66-44) that saw the Aggies force the Tigers into their lowest scoring game of the season. Janiah Barker recorded her seventh double-double during the bout with 13 points and 10 rebounds and Aicha Coulibaly led the way in scoring with 14 points. The Aggie defense had a strong outing, holding the Tigers to just 30.6% shooting (15-49).
The Aggies have one of the nation's top defenses, holding teams to just 48.9 points per game and are the lone team in the country forcing teams to less than 50 points a contest. They are also No. 2 in in field goal percentage defense (31.4%) and No. 3 in the nation in rebounds per game (48.4).
LSU (15-1, 2-0 SEC) is on a 15-game winning streak and is coming off and 11-point victory over Ole Miss (84-73). The defending national champs boast the No. 1 scoring offense in the country, averaging 94.2 points per game.
