As much as I'd love to send Tickfaw Tammy out of the arena with a scowl on her face, I'm afraid this one will get ugly.

MJ Johnson took 2 shots to the head and had to leave the game and Joni cost the team 4 points with the technical.

I loathe that school, that team, and just about everything about that area.

Down 68-49 after 3. Field goals are even at 21 but lsu has taken 25 free throws to our 6.

Our defense was missing tonight

Remember the great red head on Blair's National Champion team? The enforcer? This team is lacking an enforcer to willingly take the 5 fouls by getting even for dirty play and cheating officials.

Are you talking about Kelsey Assarian?
Coulibaly hurt her knee with about 5 minutes left after scoring 16. Had a lot of airballs, missed 18 3-pointers and hit the front of the rim a lot.
I'm not so sure that we didn't play better in the first half with Barker on the bench with foul trouble. Williams did not play at all in the second half.

I have watched every game thus far this season. I said I wouldn't make a judgement until I saw their SEC play. The current offense does not utilize the talents of all her players. No movement on offense, with her use of horns at the top of the key with players on wings stagnant in the corners. We don't screen for the wings at all for shots at the nail to get them going for an easy bucket. I've always said, when you are missing 3s you have to see the ball go in.The game plan appears to be mostly catch and shoot 3s.

These girls are athletic, make the defense move. Has Bowles just lost it this year. She doesn't look comfortable at all in this role. I expected much more from her and hopes she hasn't lost her confidence.

We dont get the ball down low to Janiah to use her height advantage. She is a mismatch nightmare. I do like her midrange game tho. Coulibaly's game I do like, she makes her offense off the dribble, but sometimes I think she should throw it out for a better shot. Lauren has to get stronger on offense. She is good on help defense though. Endiya scored very well tonight, why you say, she has the ball in her hands and they set screens to get her open lanes to the basket.

Coach says she wants to run, run, run. I don't see this on defensive rebounds. The point guard is always back waiting for the ball, which allows the defense to set up. If you have someone besides Lauren get the rebound, everybody else should take off and you might catch them out of position. Or draw defense and pass out to trailers.

I have other thoughts but I will save them until I see a few more games. Well, these are my 2 cents. I hope Coulibaly is ok and we improve on some of these issues mentioned above. Glad. MJ is well.

Appreciate the thoughts with detailed explanations. I think we will get better but I am weary of not being ready after non-conf for conference.

Rogers and Coulibaly are pretty consistent. The rest of the team not so much, although Ware
was pretty good v lsu. The weak non conf schedule is showing up in SEC games. Dawgs and Auburn
are not good teams. lsu almost got their season scoring avg, against us.

Barker needs to mature and grow up. She has all the physical talent to be really good. Her temper and lack of consistency is holding her back... too many poor decisions with turnovers and shot selection. Way too many times with 2 early fouls creating bench time. Until she matures, this team will not get near their potential.

Not completely disappointed with the outcome. Saw some good things and, of course, some not so good things. LSU is just completely stacked. Their starting 5 scored 82 points. Absolutely insane. They only had 5 bench points. If you can somehow get into their bench, maybe you have a chance? LSU made 6 threes (6-11 at 55% behind the arc) ...we made 4, but took 22 threes for (again, a subpar 18%). I'm disappointed that we are inept shooting anything beyond 12-15 feet (and even that's a stretch). Free throws were respectable (8-12); however, LSU was 25-32. I hate to say it, but those 17 points, once again, were the difference in the ball game. I realize there is more to it than that, and we competed hard despite those inadequacies, but these are things we have to do better in order to compete at a higher level. We need Barker to be a more consistent threat, too. Fouling out with 6 points, 1 rebound, and 3 turnovers is just not going to cut it. Where Barker goes, the team will follow, and it's a hard burden to carry, but it's hers to carry.

TRANFERS: 56 points, 23 rebounds, 6-7 from the free throw line (I'll add Sole in here bc she was 2-2 from the free throw line (so those 4 combined were 8-9 from the FT line).

Rest of the team: 14 points, 12 rebounds, 0-3 from the free throw line...in 102 minutes of combined playing time with the other 2 starters and non-starters that got playing time, these were the stats.

Hard to see, but there it is; if you don't want to be replaced by the portal, you better step it up, and step it up quickly.

Lots of time to continue to improve, and I'm not saying these athletes aren't working hard, but production matters...Gig'em!

USCe and LSU will own the SEC for the foreseeable future. Get used to beatdowns from both of them.

aggiedrjdub, you either recruit players that fit your system or morph your system to the talent of the players your have. The statistics tell us that we aren't that good at shooting 3s. I will say we aren't good at catch and shoot 3s. Yes Coulibaly and Endiya are the most consistent because in my opinion they screen for the both of them to
create lanes and Coulibaly is moving around to finding open spaces, even posting up sometimes to use her mismatch. When she goes out it seems the replacements don't do the same. Is it that they aren't comfortable or the sets are just for her? I hope the answer to both of those are no.

The 1st year Joni had the players she had and with the injuries had to tread water to put a product on the floor. The second year she went into the portal and got 3 good players and kind of built the offense around them and Janiah. I don't see the devolopement from year 1 to now of any player that was there last year. I do see it in Janiah at times but when things get tough, which they will in the SEC she lets it get her out of her game. It does take time with 3 new players on the team and I am hoping that the coaches and players rally to get all they can out of all the players or its going to be a long season. To conclude, the staff needs to morph the offensive system to the players that she has.

Just keep playing.

Our NET stands at 27 after the LSU game. Just a reminder that last year, we finished 111.

I don't disagree with anything you said. One caveat is, the transfers are seasoned players and have experience that many of our players just don't have. Some of it can be coached, some is innate, and some will just develop with experience. Until this team strings together a full game they will continue to doubt themselves. One thing we can say for Coulibaly, Ware and Rogers is that they have pretty defined roles. I am struggling to understand Jones or Barker's roles right now. Barker is clearly gifted with size, athleticism, natural ability and style. She will be a high draft prospect for sure. She doesn't seem to fit in a system of play yet. Mulkey knew EXACTLY what she needed to do to take Barker out of the game, and she did it. Janiah just has to play smarter. You can hustle and not reach. You can block and not swing. Keep your head in the game and focus on the team and the rest will come. Much of Janiah's issues are self inflicted. We see it. The coaches see it. Opposing teams see it. She knows it. She is a competitor, though, and will fix it. She's trying too hard to make something happen right now and it's not translating consistently on the court. Personally, if I was coaching her, I wouldn't let her take a 3 until she's scored 6-8 paint points and pulled down 4+ rebounds. Use that as a measuring stick. Saharah - idk. She can shoot free throws and I can tell she drives to the bucket in hopes of getting to the line. She hasn't been able to finish thru contact and hasn't drawn the calls yet. If she could have a consistent 10-12 foot game she could be deadly against a zone. I'd make her a 6th man and start Sole at this point. Want your starting spot back? Show us during games why you deserve it.

All in all, Hylton and Rogers and Sole are our best guards on the court. The fact that Sole only played 5 minutes baffles me. She is clearly the future and needs minutes. Is she injured?

I have definitely seen progress over last season. This is a better team. There is no doubt. But, the transfers need support and if I were them I'd be having some serious talks with my teammates. Wake the heck up and play ball. Maybe they already have.

Any news on MJ?

We are trending in the right direction. Still a year or 2 away from the top 2. Prove us wrong Aggies. Gig'em!
