One minute, KM is the second coming of Jesus. The next minute, she's a terrible coach who whines, pouts, and doesn't have good game plans.

Perhaps they are starting to see the light?

The Lady Bears are very good but I think ATM is a more rounded team. They seem to have a greater number of scorers and actually play better defense than we do - as hard as that is to say.

I'm very disappointed, but not surprised. As soon as the draw was announced I had a bad feeling about this game.

I had immense distaste before this game for ATM and I still do. I am rooting for whoever ATM plays. I don't think they'll get past Stanford.

ATM graduates Colson and Adams. Iif the Aggies don't get it done this year they might have to wait for another opportunity. Next year, provided we get a little more rounded offensive production, I think we can get it done. Although UConn, Standford and Tennessee aren't going to go away.

Hahahaha...well we do lose Colson and Adams, which will be a tremendous loss. However, we replace Adams with Bone, bring in a 6'7 fish (as well as see improvement in Gilbert), still have Carter, and get to see what Pratcher can do. I don't think we're going away any time soon.

BTW: KM isn't taking the loss well.

I did not know that KM constantly complained about meeting the Ag's for the fourth time. I can see how the complaints got more and more common as the Aggies began to crush their opponents and she knew what was going to happen right after the Georgia game.

Throughout this tournament, the Aggies have played like I have never seen them. Blair has them focused and hungary. If the team continues to play at this level, no one is going to beat them.

A week to early for this conversation but what the heck.

Gilbert will be great her junior and senior years. Next year, she should show her greatest growth but it will be a steep learning curve with a big jump in minutes? How will she hold up.

By the time Bone plays, how long will it have been since she played at game speed? It will take some adjustment from her end and it will take some time for her and Gilbert to build some chemistry. For BU, Destiny came around pretty quick after a redshirt year. It took Pope a bit longer. The chemistry shows some sparks but it's not yet explosive. So, how long for Bone/Gilbert will be tough to say.

Patcher shows that she's got some game. But is she really an equal to Colson? Really???

Carter will be the team leader next year. I think she'll do fine there. But you'll be asking her to carry the leadership load carried by Adams and Colson. Will she know what buttons to push. Can she replace two AAs?

That's a lot of ifs to go along with a lot of talent.

What does BU do without MJ (the glue)? Who is the glue for tamu? Colson, Adams, Carter?

It will be a better conversation in 8-10 days. for now, take care of N.Ogumike.

LIB,MR BEARS, Bone will be fine next year there will really be little adjustment. Its not like she took the year off and camped at Dunkin Donuts.

And Chemistry is a concern every year for every team, even if they have everyone returning. I think on paper we should be better next year... by the end of the year anyhow. But games are not played on paper. But for now I will just enjoy our next 2 games.

I don't think Bone will have too much trouble slowing down to game speed after a year of practices with the Ags.

I love these attempts to analyze our team from the outside. Is Pratcher the equal to Colson? Well, has Sydney been the equal to Aqua? Seems to me each player is different and schemes change to suit the best that the coaches can get from each player no matter what the position. Was John Stockton as good as Magic Johnson?

Seems to me from what little I can observe from long distance, Kelsey and Karla have been developing chemistry since last June when KB arrived in College Station. Seems to me KB and Sydney Carter have been doing it since before KB arrived. Seems to me that Danielle Adams had no trouble fitting right in last year.

Team chemistry evolves each year, but does this team, heading into the Final Four have more or better chemistry than Aqua, Mo, DG, TK, Reado, and Miss Mean had heading into the Elite 8?

Our returning players have learned leadership from the best - those who came before them and those who led the team in their underclass years. Sydney Colson already had IT when she came to Aggieland, but she learned from from the example set by Aqua, Mo, DG, and TK. Carter, Tyra White, and Adaora Elonu have done the same. And even thought she was not a starter, don't ever forget the leadership MaryAnn Baker brought as a senior - and don't for a minute believe that didn't rub off on those behind her.

I like Quagga's comment - I think KB will hit the court like a tornado next year and she and Karla will be a formidable force. And they will be the mentors for Rachel Mitchell.

Ditto for Standish and Scott - they will have some of the best mentors and leaders and will learn from the examples set not only by our veterans, but from those who have spent the last year or two years learning from the bench.

I believe the Aggies will be fine next year - loads of talent, more heart than anybody in the league of 12-2, and the finest coaching staff in the nation. I'm not sure the same can be said about Baylor, in spite of their boatload of talent, but then I'm an outsider there. And thank God for that.

We will have a badass roster next year.

Standish is a freakin' baller. So is Bone.

Bone and Griner were neck and neck for the best player in the country coming out of high school. I think Bone will be able to come in and do quite well.

Next year will be a different team, but it will still be elite. Bone will be good right off the start because she has been going up against our starters every day in practice.

I think Ags are going to fall in love with Standish very quickly as she has the purest shot I've seen from a high school player. She can run the floor and find teammates quickly in the half court offense. Also, she can drive the lane and make a bunch of 15-ft. shots to beat any zone we face next year. I expect she and Pratcher will split time at the 1.

1 - Pratcher/Standish
2 - Carter/Collins/Grant
3 - White/Scott/Windham
4 - Elonu/Assarian/Bellock
5 - Bone/Gilbert/Mitchell

Hidden, I can hardly wait to see next year's fish. How 'bout this line-up?

1 - Pratcher/Standish
2 - Carter/Grant/Collins
3 - White/Elonu/Windham
4 - Gilbert/Elonu/Bellock
5 - Bone/Assarian/Mitchell

I have no idea what it will be; but I think Blair's biggest problem will be playing time and I suspect we will see just about every combination that we can imagine. I can see Elonu, White and maybe Bellock playing just about every position but the 1. My guess is that Standish will be the only freshman who will get significant minutes but I don't intend that to be a knock on Pratcher--I like her game. She always plays smart ball and has a lot of courage.

Bottom line is I don't think Coale/Kim/et al will enjoy preparing for a unreal variety of matchups.
HiddenAg2
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It's certainly possible that Gilbert and Bone will play on the floor at the same time for certain matchups, especially against bigger teams like Baylor or Stanford. I do think that Blair has proven that he likes faster teams on the floor, thus why I have Elonu starting at the 4 next year.

Don't overlook Tori Scott at the 2 or 3 either as she is a long wing type player in the mold of White who can really shoot it as well. She will see some playing time.

I think the real excitement and versatility in the lineup starts in the '12-'13 season when Courtney Williams and Courtney Walker arrive. Williams could be a 6-1 guard at the 2 and Walker could play all 3 guard positions. Blair will have a tall, fast, good-shooting and deep team that year. The best years for A&M basketball is still ahead.

Hasn't Bone been practicing with the guys... or I remember hearing something like that.

I think Bone will be raring to go next year.

Can't wait to see what our 6'5", 6'6" and 6'7" posts can do.

Have the incoming players ever been asked to play D? I know that is frequently an issue with incoming freshmen - they've never been asked to play lock-down D because they have never had their HS teams in a position to need to.

On the offensive end, they will now have to start setting more screens angainst stronger girls than they may have ever played against. on the D end running thru those screens.

JR, not a slight on ya'lls incomings and not a critique -just basketball conversation. A HUGE number of incomings from across WBB may have the size and skill to play in NCAA WBB but they lack the muscle mass coming in.

I'm talking guards here. Bone has the size and strength no doubt.

Here's a true story.......

When our school went after Danielle Adams - everyone told us we were crazy that she couldn't play D

In interviews now Adams is always asked about that I will give you her answer......I heard what they said and you can see how that worked out.

Rudy, that's coming after 2 year of college ball and already showing the world that she had some mad ball skills. I'm talking about the leap from HS to NCAA.

It's rare that incoming frosh can make an impact. In my years watching BU, Simms seems to be the first getting significant time (again, the quicks, not bigs).
