Does anybody have any first hand experience with heavy fabrication in Mexico? Particularly ASME vessels and oil field type equipment.

Tried it several times, but never successfully.

Had better luck in Canada, and while not as cheap as Mexico, still cheaper than USA.

The only first hand experience we have is repairing/modifying the vessels we lost on the original RFQ to fabricators in Mexico.

I wasn't directly involved by I worked for a company that did most their manufacturing in Acuna and had some fab and assembly in Del Rio before shipping to Houston for final assembly.

They're pretty successful with it and didn't have any quality issues while I was there.
