What would you do with 200-400k windfall (after paying off any debt)?

Scenario
Late 30s
Good Salary and Retirement Plan in Place
Not Risk Averse
Business Mgmt Experience

Options
Rentals
Invest - Index
Invest - Wheel Strategy
Buy and scale small business

Does your job have a 401k plan that allows mega backdoor Roth? If so I would put the money in a money market earning 5+% and live off of it and set your 401k withholdings to 50%+ of your salary and try and max out the mega backdoor Roth (max combined is $69k but that includes the normal contribution, employer match and the after tax Roth converted).

Doing this will basically have you dollar cost average into the market and you will have 20+ years tax free growth on that investment.

If your company doesnt offer that I would index invest it in a brokerage account.

On a more serious note.... put it in a mm account earning 5% and wait for bitcoin to nose dive (and it will) then put it in there. I have been doing that for 4 years and its worked out well.

Depending on whatever your current debt looks like you may not want to pay it off (i.e. sub 4% mortgage). I would put it all in December t-bills at 5%+ to lock it up while you consider your options
