Before I got into trading I always said the cannabis industry has a huge future in this country. Is there any long term play here? Is there any company someone could recommend I invest in to just sit on for years? I saw BUDZ was essentially a "penny stock?"

Not sure I have that correct. Thoughts?

I've wondered the same thing with this industry. There has to be a couple of avenues to really keep an eye on or invest in.

I did not say to buy SNDL, by the way. I said have you heard of it. That was a reference to a lot of buying/swinging it on this board a couple years ago.

All good advice but having my first stock order canceled tells me I'm totally clueless still

If you've followed the price of flower at shops and seen the amount of shops closing, I think you'd see how saturated the market is already.

If/when it's legalized, it'll be a free for all on who's left standing. Synthetics are already greatly tearing into the market due to regulation.

Now, unless you mean cannabis where it's used to make hemp rope or there's some magical cure for cancer, I think the market is already set.

You don't think the rest of the nation at some point makes it legal to buy marijuana? I was looking for a long haul in hopes of making it big once everyone is legal.

It's legal in something like 30 states right? Also, delta 8 has changed the game.

Something like that. But think about how many more are still illegal? When Texas turns legal it will be a game changer on its own.

Delta 8 has definitely made an impact.

If you're big on the industry, look for an etf of some kind to get exposure across a basket of stocks in the sector.

Personally, I feel like that's going to be a commodity business and it's going to be really hard for anyone to establish a dominant position.
