One thing I have found following this page is daily commentary on the ups and downs and general volatility of the BTC price is rarely discussed.

Funny enough I am in your exact same position. I bought and sold BTC and ETH last year starting with about 35k. At one point I was up $16k. Ended up just barely under when I sold to protect my initial investment. Now that money is just sitting there and I can't decide what to do.

In my opinion the ADA tech is pretty far behind competitors. Peer review is great at making sure the stated assumptions are correct, but isn't always the best at addressing alternative assumptions/attack vectors.

Other ecosystems have rushed their tech and have had many issues with security, functionality, and ability to adapt.

I saw the interview with Buterin where he stated almost the same thing you did. ETH has the first mover affect but most would not call it ideal tech for multiple reasons.

There was a minute long commercial of a totally black screen with some elevator music playing. The only thing on the screen was a QR Code that moved diagonally like the screensavers used to.

You had to get off the couch, put your phone on camera mode and capture the floating QR Code and it took you to a Coinbase website. At the very end of the commercial was a quick flash of Coinbase and that's it.

I tried to open the app, as did my buddies, and none of us could get in.

Just a cool concept in my mind, and obviously got some traffic.

Anytime there is a lot of activity, Coinbase crashes. There aren't many other good alternatives, but Coinbase crashes basically anytime Bitcoin makes huge moves up or down. Just a forewarning to anyone using it.

Meanwhile crypto prices said "meh". If anyone wanted proof crypto is institutional now, there you go.

I just don't see "people who got into crypto because of a superbowl commercial" being that much of a market influence in 2022. Especially not BTC. Maybe some rando-coin might jump some but I don't have any real expectations from this that are worth trading around.

Oh I don't disagree, just speaking from experience as people have historically whined how long it takes to get approved for "major purchases" that require KYC.

In my 3+ years on Kraken it has never been unavailable when I have tried to login. Their customer service is top notch as well.

I'm liking this Pokt protocol with the RFC layer abstracting different endpoints - might have to spin up a node or two in the DC.

The question is, if you acquire tokens for 'fuel' to drive a node because of hard requirements - can you consider that an asset on the books (along with the infrastructure to support it?).
