Buy the rumor, sell the news. This has always been a truth with crypto. Every single coin follows this pattern.

You will have to wait a few months before the coin recovers from big news. It makes no sense but that's how it works.

It's good to be discerning and read a variety of opinions and experiences to build your own version of reality, but you can discern that it's limited because you aren't engaging in that reality, just an observer trying to unobtrusively speculate on the direction of future trends.

One of the biggest differentiators I've found in people engaging in speculatory actions in "crypto" and what people term bitcoin "maxis" is that there is engagement in more than just trading IOUs inside a walled garden environment like coinbase or an exchange of some sort.

I thoroughly encourage any and all here to open a lightning channel, take the Investment of time and effort to figure out why many of us vehemently oppose the continued explosion of ****coinery and the massive timesuck that is demanded of your attention and the minimal knowledge gained in the process besides "learning trading signals" [which in my opinion is the lowest form of knowledge and shouldn't be sought... it's like learning the game of roulette, then the odds, then the strategy on how to walk away before learning how powerful gambling addiction actually becomes]

I'm rambling I appreciate your contributions and encourage you to take the initiative to be more hands on instead of waiting to be fed information by biased reporting that must then be filtered...

Love you guys, want the best for everyone here, I'm working on improving my communication.

Edit: by being more hands on, we will all be able to contribute to the proper growth and direction and functionality of the future global marketplace. Remaining a "trader" cheapens the experience you could be building.

There is no real reason to invest this much time into coins. All you really need to know about about a ****coin is what it does, is the dev team good and involved, how you get it, is the volume increasing, what the market cap is, and lastly, is /biz/ shilling it.

This is how I found all of my ****coins and I'm well over 10,000% up. There is no grand strategy to any of this, don't make it out to be something that it isn't. It's a completely unregulated and highly manipulated market that is heavily subject to memes and viral situations. This is why people can make $100k on dogecoin because it went up 100x while people coins with real world value make nothing while their coins crab.

I like crypto because it's a nice arena to make money where I can mostly avoid stock market bull***** I think blockchain tech has huge potential but the reality is that most people are throwing **** on a wall and hoping it sticks.

It's kind of why I laugh when huge market cap coins are shilled here. Yeah that's not where you make money at this point.

"Make money" was never the goal. "FIXING MONEY" was always the short term goal. Obsoleting centralized institutions was always the goal, not "making money." Removing the ability of a bunch of backroom dealing and inside trading from elected and unelected administrators that constantly choke the free market pipeline at no benefits to their citizenry except those closest to the snake head to catch scraps....

Anyways.

Our objectives diverge, clearly. No wonder the shiny coins and meme trading make the most short term appreciation, because the lack of intelligence of the masses en masse allow predation on human stupidity to greater returns than any other opportunity.

Congrats you made 10k% besting people with lower than high school education. Be proud of your bad self. Spin the roulette wheel again, double or nothing.

Survival of the fittest is important or we just keep reproducing unproductive meat puppets and collapse under sheer derp-istagation.

Carry on. Hope you use the "money" while you can.

Does it help if I add something like, I love you guys, I want the best for ya, I'm glad we have opposing opinions. We are getting to the state governments of the world fighting bitcoin and crypto, and some people are trying to front-run newbies instead of helping secure the systems... I think it's ugly behavior, and I honestly hope you get hurt hard enough to level up the maturity instead of engaging in dysfunctional behavior and getting rewarded for it. Woowoo make the monies! Dollars rule!

As others have mentioned....buy the rumor sell the news is part of it...another part is people taking profits...lastly, the price should go up after the Cardano summit and the new partnerships are announced but after that it will take a month or two for full implementation of developers' smart contracts and the transaction volume to push it up.

I don't trade, I hold. Trading in crypto is how you lose your shirt. Hold a coin for a few years and make tons on it. Some coins despite promise fail and others do well.

The idea that crypto will eliminate back room shady deals is a farce though. Crypto is more manipulated than the stock market and collusion is completely legal. Insider trading is the norm.

The coins I hold all have real world value. My whole point is that it is not complicated to make a lot of money. There is no reason to read tons of white papers or do tons of research. Do what I said and then just hold the coin for a few years.

The easiest method for people to learn is simply to start reading /biz/ threads. /biz/ is always ahead of the game on nearly every major project and coin. Eventually you learn to recognize scamcoins, fud, and shilling.

What are everyone's thoughts about Avalanche?

Bitboy thinks it may be poised for a Solana-type outbreak.

Good layer 1 blockchain. Has good tech and some inherent advantages like throughput and compatibility. Imo, it will do well but lots has to happen in the space still to know which will be around long term but a possibly a good short term investment.

yah I have used almost every broker available to Americans (except coinbase) and gemini is probably the cleanest. Im sure users know, but if you buy through the web platform instead of the app, the fees are significantly less.

I also use Kraken but its harder to get money on there, I typically buy a stable coin or btc on Gemini and transfer to Kraken to get coins that Gemini doesnt have, such as Solana.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention strike to hardware wallet as the most secure and cost effective way to buy Bitcoin.

He's right even though I think he's annoying. AVAX will most likely be the standard when subnets are fully launched and projects can onboard to their subnet with ease. One of the biggest reasons is that any project can essentially run their own blockchain which allows them to utilize their token as gas or whatever they want. Even without the launch of subnets AVAX's c-chain is already looking promising and very cheap to use.

Agreed.

It's also KYC-free bitcoin. And uses lightning network which coinbase and many other exchanges have chosen not to implement yet, meaning they can collect more fees from you.

One of three projects working on AVAX subnets. Everything else is on their chain but nonetheless blowing up lately. Trader Joe (Uniswap for AVAX) has been phenomenal.

JOE listing… 12534.3% increase in one month. I honestly feel legit bad for my BTC and ETH friends. I've tried so so many times to show them AVAX potential and they just flat out don't care or call it and the ecosystem ***** Now our convos are just awkward.

I'll post Gameswap and NiftyX increases in Q4 or Q1.

Well I gave you gameswap and NiftyX . Ecosystem of decentralized exchanges starting with minting in game assets as NFTs for gameswap then making exchanges specifically for music and fashion for the metaverse. Gameswap hopefully releasing on the c-chain end of Q4 and later on it's on subnet which will use gswap as gas. You also get 60% fees from the exchanges if you stake gswap, 30% for NiftyX and 10% for NFTs.

Oh come on I saw the AVAX comment and figured it was worth talking about. I love the ecosystem. Usually I'm on the religion board. Does anyone ever talk about the potential of gaming or NFTs?

Rumor:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/pr7fow/new_shocking_us_crypto_regulation_far_more

Quote:

New US Crypto Regulation Far More Invasive Than We Thought
US Congress intends to regulate crypto on a level far deeper than currently understoodThey will:

Designate Bitcoin, Ether, and their hard-forks as commodities and regulate their transactions accordingly;

Create legal uncertainty for all other crypto projects and ICOs by allowing them to be labeled as securities;

Ban the use of (unauthorized) stablecoins;

Introduce penalties for the use of mixers and privacy coins;

Rebrand smart-contracts that take longer than 24 hours to deliver as futures contracts and regulate them accordingly;

Re-define legal tender and change the way money is created by the Federal Reserve; and authorize the issuing of a digital USD of which all transactions are recorded;

Introduce foreign regulations into US law for all virtual asset service providers in the US (and with US clients). This would not be done to then never use it.

In short: Congress wants to bring crypto-currencies under full oversight and control

Came here to post something similar. From a CNBC article:

Quote:

The Financial Stability Oversight Council could designate them as systemically risky, the New York Times reported over the weekend, which could subject them and their operators to heavy regulation.

The President's Working Group on Financial Markets is working up a report on stablecoins and the Fed is expected to put out a report on central bank digital currencies this month that could touch on stablecoin risks.

Sounds like the fun times are ending and the government is doing what I feared from the beginning. They are going to regulate it into obscurity to pave way for digital dollar.

I think this is due to China financial issue. People are panic selling. Any US regulations will take years to implement. I would be surprised if anyone is selling on regulations rumors we all knew were going to come eventually.
