explanation: if it's not bitcoin, it's ****coin. And ****coins have "traders and shillers" that try to persuade the newbie that they should spend their finite attention or money into said ****coin to eventually rugpull them.

Don't fall into the trap until you have at least .5 BTC on hand in cold storage and a solid understanding of btc.... or you're gonna have a baaaad time.

Admin errors is largely correct.
The other factors are NFTs and ETH folks pumping into it. Low market cap made it attractive and the tech is good but word was many were going to pull out and start putting funds elsewhere.

SOL is not a ****coin. It is one of the fastest blockchains on the market and IMO it has the potential to be an ETH killer or a very viable #2 to ETH.

Owning 60% BTC, 30 %ETH and SOL and 10% in alts is probably the way to go.

Only to sell to acquire more bitcoin, historically. SOL is just the most hyped "better than" of the newbs. Give it a few years and watch it evaporate because claims don't match with reality and bitcoin L2/L3 will obsolete SOL's use cases and as SOL actually gets used and bloated it'll hasten its own demise.

Do as you will, just make sure to seize profits when you can.

Big story about Walmart accepting Litecoin as payment turned out to be fake. Gensler was already angling toward classifying almost any non-BTC crypto as a security under his jurisdiction and pump/dump like that on fraudulent info will only accelerate his timeline.

Agreed. Most journalism absolutely sucks donkey in 2021 and the race to be first is part of what makes it suck.

But I was conflating two topics. Gensler is working hard to classify most non BTC cryptos as securities under his jurisdiction. As part of that regulatory approach, he'll have the ability to bring the SEC hammer against pump/dumpers (ie the ones behind the LTC/Walmart scheme).

Some have tried to make it faster. It actually created problems iirc. 2nd layer solutions are better such as Lighting network for processing speed.

Bitcoin is a digital ledger. Having a slower settlement assists with the security and finality of the network, plus allows for mistakes to be canceled.

Hoping for a pull back on AVAX. I had a small position at $15 and sold out at $45 thinking it was a top for Avax. I will get in if it retraces back down

1. I read every article that pops up under my Google banner which is daily. They pop up because my phone knows my search history and what I open. I get daily updates from CoinDesk, CoinTelegraph, Yahoo, Market Insider, Decrypt, CryptoBriefing, etc.. My phone inundate me with any article on crypto.
2. I subscribe to some YouTube channels. Mostly the ones that discuss current events and different tokens. Altcoin Daily, Digital asset news, Coin Bureau, BitBoy, Cheeky Crypto, etc.
3. I follow specific protocols on social media whether it be YouTube or Twitter. The best up to date information comes from their own websites and social media. Charles Hoskinson, IOHK, ADA180, Cardano Foundation, Vitalik, Harmony Protocol,....most Twitter dealing with BTC and crypto...just have to cipher through the crap.

CryptoPro has a decent article aggregation feature as well. I use it to track my portfolio and it'll let me pick between the following…

"Show me all crypto news"
"Show me crypto news articles that reference coins in my portfolio"
"Show me crypto news articles that reference coins in my favorites/watchlist"

These cracks me up. Most folks don't know enough about crypto to discuss it on a fundamental level let alone on a technical one.

How is Congress, the SEC, DOJ, Fed Reserve, etc. going to use security laws and mentality on digital assets? They can't. Until they start with a new approach that begins with the purpose and foundations of crypto they'll never be on the correct page. It is a separate class and should be researched and treated as such. New laws and regulations specific to digital assets are needed and not trying to force digital assets into existing channels.

Interesting read. Sums up how I see it and that is largely because I am in the group of computer/tech illiterates. I have an advantage because I know what I don't know and always seek to learn. I'll never be able to create code or understand cryptography but I read about those that can and what they think. I also always try to find dissenting opinions from experts to see where, how, and why, they think differently, whether it be on a technical aspect or a forecast.
