Who knows, my opinion is cynical. PoS is unproven and many of the projects promoting it sound more like the old "they didn't do socialism 'right,' though" you get from those fanbois.
PoW works, and has worked consistently without interference and infinite attacks for over a decade. Bitcoin had no premine, no ico, a completely anonymous probably dead founder, and is completely open sourced without the need to build a consortium of businesses and developers to create perception if value and debeers version of scarcity.

I'm excited to see continued development and experimentation and competition in the space as the best innovations or innovators will be able to translate across most projects or can at least be added into a Bitcoin layer 2/3/5 solution.

For all the ETH holders I hope I am wrong in my belief.
I think the "improvements" will prove to be negligible by early 2022 due to many issues popping up. I honestly believe that thwy will lose significant (10%-30%) market share to competitors by Christmas.
I don't believe it will have the interoperability and scalability needed to be competitive after Christmas.
I have family and friends with ETH, plus all you good folks, so I hope I am wrong and it goes over $4,500 up to the moon.
Edited to add: I believe this because of the progress being made by competitors and reading a Vitalik speech about the next 2-3 years. He admitted there were many obstacles to overcome and that he knew there would be some pop up that weren't predictable. That is what happens when you have to make changes and fixes to something while it is running (his words). That plus other devs seeing some minor issues in the future that will be problematic of the other ecosystems aren't having them.

The only projects I hate on are XRP and ADA.

Something I posted a few pages back, this is why I don't simply ignore everything altcoin related. Just most of it.
I believe the energy being spent on altcoins are a waste of time/resources looking to make the founder rich. The engineers that are working on altcoins could be doing work to advance level 2/3 uses on the bitcoin network, making things better for everyone.
I'm not saying people won't be able to make money if they get in and out at the right time. I am saying it is wasting time.

If you went through a period of massive suffering, Fear, misunderstanding and loss, would you wish that same experience on fellow aggies or humans in general? Some of us are trying to bring you up to speed without the pain and loss.

It happens. Doesn't mean eth is bad or flawed. Thousands of bitcoin have been lost because of how it works and even more stolen too. They are growing pains not an indicator of future success and failure.
And further more everyone who does not control their crypto runs this very same risk. Anyone who thinks it can't happen to even Coinbase is wrong.

I got one of those alerts on my phone last week from coinbase giving me a numeric login password as if I was trying to log in on a new device. Wasn't me.
Agreed, it can happen at anytime to any platform or token. However, imo some will have less issues due to how they were built.
The only bitcoin stolen have been through social engineering issues or poor custodial efforts, the chain hasn't hasn't hacked and there have been no vulnerabilities in the coding to take advantage.
This is vastly different than suffering a 51% attack or man in the middle or other attacks on the NETWORK that could cause people to not have their bitcoin where the blockchain claims.
There's nuance and within that nuance there's massive differences between "losing" your bitcoin and the network getting hacked.

Do you guys have a good way of tracking your average cost per share and other metrics along those lines using Coinbase? I have a little excel sheet right now I built, but I can only reference the current price for Bitcoin and ETH, not any of my alts. Wondering if anyone has a better way of tracking this kind of info.
