So veterans of crypto, entering a bear market, what's the best plan? Hold everything? Sell early and then buy back at lower prices? Sell and don't buy for a long time?

A few days or weeks is not a bear market, that's a correction.

A crypto bear market last years. I mean jeez 2018 to early 2020 is a bear market.

What I learned from the 2018 bear market is if I wasn't holding a bunch of s***coins and had consolidated it in to Bitcoin while buying a bit here and there when I'm comfortable with it, I'd be sitting very pretty right now. I got owned by holding a bunch of random crap through the bear market expecting it to go back to all time high. Bitcoin will go down but alts will get crushed if a real bear comes.

Edit: lesson is have a decently long time frame and don't get caught holding anything but BTC (maybe Eth) in a bear market. Hodl and buy the dips. I personally believe we will see $200k BTC some day and plan on that being a life changing number for me if I'm patient.

Good advice! Thanks for sharing. Feels like when I learned the hard way about sector rotation and held onto all my growth stocks when they were at all time highs!

If this really is the start to a bear market, do you guys see ADA coming out strong when a bull finally returns?

I just got into crypto several months ago and have BTC, ETH, ADA and LINK. I only have $1k in Link so if that's lost then so be it, but I have quite a bit in the other 3. It won't kill me to lose on the other 3 but it sure would hurt like hell. I'm willing to ride out for several years if need be but I'm trying to figure out if I should dump my ETH and ADA and roll that into BTC.

I'm heavily considering backing up the truck here on ETH. Probably about ~50% downside short term with 500%+ upside long term. I'm a gambling man so I simply like the risk-reward here.

I'd hold off for a bit. Nothing looks to have hit any kinds of bottoms.

I agree with the sentiment but I'm an ETH holder.

Hopeful for the "proof of stake" transition rolling out successfully and launching ETH north of 10K

Btc bounced pretty hard at 33.5 this time, encouraging I guess instead of the low closer to 30 it hit two days ago.

Very true, which makes me think this is massive manipulation, and question whether this is truly heading into a bear market. Just grabbed some more BTC and ADA.

I really don't understand the panic selling, but I guess it's those expecting a get rich quick return that are doing so. I'm not aware of many investments that fit that profile, it just so happens that the main crypto coins have provided a much higher rate of return on investment relative to other asset classes.

Panic selling at a loss or getting hammered by short term capital gains doesn't seem rational to me. Even if it is heading to a true bear market, why not just sit on it and wait for it to ultimately rebound and surpass its prior all time highs as it has always done? Not talking about holding sheit coins of course. Seems the crypto investment sphere is the most impatient which causes such volatility.

Upped my position in LUNA when it dropped under $8.
Bought a little more ADA around 1.50.
Added a few thousand more ONE around .10.

Want to buy in more DOT but I have a sell held up in Binance that I need to clear before I do that.

The forces wait may work out well if this continues.

ADA seems to be loosely following BTC now. I think ADA will be back near $2.00 when BTC is back above $40k.

I'm not anything near an expert in this stuff but ETH feels pretty good long term at these levels as long you know it might still drop more before it's next push up. Assuming no major negative catalysts I think people might say "damn...why didn't I buy it in the low 2000s?"

So I have been trying to play this volatility... Especially using the TTM squeeze on the hourly as a guideline.

I had sold all of my crypto on the initial bounce back up yesterday and was sitting all cash. I had some level on multiple cryptos but the one I felt the strongest about was $2400 on ETH. I debated on setting a limit buy there and just forgetting about it but I didn't.

This morning I begin to look at the chart again too much and change my mind about support being higher at $2600 so I rushed into a trade there with around 60% of my available cash. Then I watched it plummet right down to where my original line of support was. I snatched some more on its way back up from there.

Wish I would have just went with my gut last night and set the $2400 buy and forgot about it.
