not trying to duplicat what's been said or dumb things down, but for a novice investor (myself being one) ETH has become the most attractive.
here's my brief thoughts, and i'd love to hear insight...
1) Bitcoin - designed to store value. it's an asset with a highly volitile valuation. scarcity and demand alone drive value from what i can tell..
2) Ethereum - designed to track value and act as a foundation for other crypto innovations. many, many other cryptos are pegged to the ETH network. I'm not an expert so i'm going to enjoy hearing someone explain how i'm mistaken, but it seems like as any one of these other cryptos take off, it's going to take ETH with it like a rocket. What seems valueable to me about ETH is the functionality it provides other, more specific cryptocurrencies.
I also like Compound and Cardona, which from what i've learned are both ETH offspring cryptos.
Many other cryptos are going to need mass adoption of their respective currencies to drive value. Not like bitcoin, but at a far greater institutional level because many of them don't have the scarcity bitcoin has with capped inventories. People are going to have to look at these beyond day trades or investments and actually use the platforms/functions they fuel to drive value.
like i said, i'm just a novice. i researched for 60 days and have been trading for 30. with the charts how they are it's almost been impossible to lose. more than anything else, i'm just putting my understanding out there hoping to learn more about it in the process
