I got stopped out at $120 a few weeks ago. I'll buy back in at some point but doesn't seem like the general tech route is even close to being over. I too wish I had got off the ROKU train at $400+, but if you've been a long term holder, you're hopefully still close to break even or profitable. Still a big fan of the company, but been stopped out of a lot of tech stocks this year. At least ROKU makes money in a growing industry.

I'm not much of a Technical Analysis guy but ROKU has one of the most prominent and obvious double peaks I've ever seen.

I finally got out last week on the bounce to 100. It's like a weight off my shoulders, but I lost a ton of cash in this damn thing. Lesson learned.

It wasn't just you. There's a reason roku has its own thread on the board. Many people were very high on it

Bought it low, watched it skyrocket to the top and not wanting to sell for tax purposes (wait one year). In that year of waiting I saw it tank and have just held on because I would need mental therapy if I watched it go right back up when I unload it.

From the top, I saw $20K evaporate, but for what I got in at, I'm down $5K.

Unless Roku has some patients that prevent others from copying them I don't get why they are so attractive as a company other than a momentum play. People are more loyal to the apps than the device they watch them on so when they threaten to take them away they get all the heat, and the same Roku I bought 4 years ago still works fine today so it's not like people are constantly upgrading, which might be worse if people did because they probably lose money on hardware

The only redeeming thing I can say was that I went net free back on the upswing.

Down 24% today. Ouch.

Absolute beating. Not the way I wanted this week to end.

Well, it's now around the price it was when I got my first shares of it years ago. This one has been a ride. The biggest threat I believe is the Amazon fire stick which I think has been eating into Roku growth. Macro environment, hot stocks got dropped. I was a big believer but other investors are clearly not. Not sure about the future of this one now, I could see it being acquired but at this point, it seems like possible buyers may opt to kill it off without acquisition. doest bring value to anyone except maybe Netflix? Or Google who has been battling over YouTube and search placement on the platform.

I will admit that I couldn't resist and re-entered with a tiny position on Friday. (20 shares, which is nothing compared to my previous position.)

Already at +10% on it, but I set my trailing stop for now.

I'm taking my profits and running. Knowing how this stock goes, it can give it all back tomorrow.

What do you have for your stop?

P/E ration of 34 now. But for years now we've been told that doesn't matter anymore. Future earnings prediction and unicorn farts are so much more important… amazingly Tesla now has a similar P/E ratio.
