What?
Yeah I have no clue what that means
Not sure I 100% understand, but someone did come on CNBC this morning saying that the tariffs are meant to get Canada and Mexico on board with reducing the flow of drugs across the border. Mexico fully understands the reasons behind the tariffs, while Canada is acting like this is for no reason. The guy on CNBC pointed out that most major Canadian cities look a lot like San Francisco and are rampant with drugs and that flows to the US where there "were 100,000 fentanyl deaths last year, more than the entire Vietnam war"
Apparently this is Trump just trying to get their attention and take this serious.
Don't shoot the messenger.
To piggyback on this, I had heard something either Friday or Saturday that there is hardly any drugs, at least fentanyl, coming across the Canadian border. I wasn't to say there was only like 40 lbs that were caught. (And yes, that's not a typo). So if that's the case, it can't really be the drugs that are the issue. The Southern border? Oh yes, we all know how bad that is. I'm wondering if the Canadian cities are so bad with drugs, it's because they are coming out of the US and not the other way around?
I have no idea, I just thought it was interesting on that stat in particular .
