I'm holding my POWL puts until $225 at the very least and possibly $200.

HA - I always appreciate your analysis. Lots of ppl on the board are in love with POWL, including me, and are looking for another buying opportunity as small cap US focused companies, such as POWL, look pretty attractive under a Trump administration. You think it'll get to $200-225 range? If so are you then a buyer? I know you have mixed feelings about the stock.

I'm selling my $MU here and will buy it back later today on pullback.
Thanks for the heads up. Glad I didn't wait since it has been falling since I sold.

$MU is still in no man's land on the RSI and MACD on the 5m intraday chart, but it's built a long darvas box and bollies are real tight. It's going to make an explosive move in the last hour of trading imho. I also believe that will be to the upside.

I know I don't rec options but this is what I'm planning to do and will post before I place my trade. I'm zeroing in on the 1/10 110c or something close to the money calls with the same strike price. The price difference between the 12/20 and the 1/10 calls is negligible and give me more room for error with the larger time window.

I can control the same amount of shares and the risk to what I banked this morning would be a hickey if I'm wrong because of the profit I took off the board.

I am NOT guaranteeing any outcome, so everyone do your own DD and assess your own risk tolerance and situations. I'm playing with house money on this one because I won't be surprised if it hits $125 this week. If I'm wrong, I still have profit from my previous trade.
I'm going to nibble on the 1/10 $110c at 8.15 because the 5m intraday MACD is about to flash buy. RSI is still in no man's land.

Will probably add another position before the close, maybe different strike but same 1/10

Placing trade now.
I played this as well. Premarket looking good, but earnings is today AH. Obviously going to watch premiums today, but trying to decide on whether to ride this call through earnings. Just want to bump this so we can comment as day goes on.

MU - with earnings today, are they projecting to be good? revenue?

Sorry on the road right now and haven't checked anything as of yet. Trying to decide if I'm holding through earnings or sell prior

From what I read yesterday, the analyst with Citi expects revenue to hit as expected, but EPS to be a bit lower due to continued drain from their older DRAM line. Citi reiterated a buy and has a price target of $150.

Edit to add Cramer says he likes the stock. So I'm thinking sell lol.

Here's the most basic TA I can offer.

In this growth trend, when the 89 day EMA hasn't been able to contain it, the 144 day EMA has caught it.

But this is the most significant break below the ich cloud of this whole trend. The blue conversion line has crossed the orange base line and both are moving down and at the steepest angle of any selling in this uptrend.

Morning,

I think it will close strong and if it does, then I'll probably sell and bank the profit and then take a smaller position of calls at a higher strike to ride through earnings.

FED day - Options purchased today are going to have high IV and you will need outsized gains to get the expected returns. Just FYI.

OK - I need some level heads to talk me out of this:

Looking at Nissan (NSANY). Closed at 5-year low today ($4.73/share), and has had all the appearances of a company that's circling the drain, in slow motion. Premise is that they either have turnaround potential, or the rumored takeover by Honda Motor gives shareholders some acquisition premium. It's custom made for a speculative LEAP call option, but sadly, none are traded for this security. So, I'd have to buy shares. Totally risky, with doubtful return, in a crappy segment of the market, with a tired product line, but... Wouldya?

Give me a reason to say no. Please.

I'm glad I decided to chance it - Honda/Nissan tie-up widely reported. A traditional old-school value take-out play, just like the movie plot of Wall Street. I had a lot of success with these 20-30 years ago.

Still no formal announcement, but it happened way more quickly than I thought it would. Bought shares at $4.71, sold half at $5.80, for a 23% gain. Will ride with the rest until a formal announcement (or the deal implodes?).

Not bad for a one week holding period!

I look for leading indicators to see what the market might do on FED day. Last rate cut, the 10 year bottomed the day before and rocketed after. This time around, 10-year has already been heading up and legitimately could go either way. I probably default to down, but I am not confident in that.

Indexes have room for another high, so I could see today and the aftermath catalzying the market into a Christmas rally. But we're so freaking extended, I'm not exactly willing to bank on it.

My strategy is to let the shake and bake play out today and then jump on the trend tomorrow or Monday. I initiated a started position on TSLZ as TSLA is due for a correction of some sort. But I have a tight stop. I probably wouldnt recommend it to others as a spike of some sort in TSLA could trigger losses well below my stop and I dont want to put that juju on anyone else. I'm playing with house money on TSLA trying to catch the turns and it's risky.

BTC has a correction if it wants it. Still eyeing the $90k area. But it't not yet high probability. MSTR does seem to indicate further weakness, but MSTR is levered proxy for TSLA and isnt the cleanest indicator.

Just some loose thoughts. I'll be occupied from noon to market close today. Just remember that this is a high volatility day and there could be sizeable swings back and forth. It's also options expiration week, and we have a VIX cycle ending soon which also leads to elevated volatility, and dealers are likely hedged already for any outcome. It might not be until Monday until we really know whats coming next.

Does this change anything for the JBLU or KOS plays? I'm leaning towards keeping the stops where they are and letting it ride but I could just take profits gained since you called out both. 10% and 6% respectively since your posts about them.

Every chart on its own. Those plays are valid within the parameters set.

Your risk is determined by how much you're willing to lose at your stop. Your reward is how much those same shares would be worth at target. Never set an entry based on reward you want, as it could lead to outsized risk.

Sounds good. When I entered, I just calculated what my loss would be at stop, and how that matches my tolerance, and that's how many shares I bought of each. I won't lose sleep if they hit the stop losses, will be happy with the projected upsides.

is anyone in SoundHound (SOUN)? I got a tip from a guy on a golf trip a few months back and got in around $4.5. It's skyrocketed and I've been taking gains on the ride up. He's in it for life and had some pretty compelling info on it. I'm likely leaving money on the table selling along the way, but been burned too many times on golf buddy tips haha. topped out at 23.62 today

I'm not in SOUN, but I think it has a retracement coming and I would take some profits up here. Not saying to get out, but to remove your risk and maybe get yourself at least net free.

I was a few old fashioned's in and it was late night after playing 36 and a steak dinner, so honestly can't remember a ton. He had a buddy connected to a few folks that had moved over there from Google and other tech companies that had made bold career moves to hop onboard. Something about the proprietary or at least superior AI they had for the conversational/music based stuff and that they were likely to have a semi monopoly on a few aspects of it down the line. Again, I wasn't all there though. Honestly, I'd forgotten putting in an overnight order and woke up to a few hundred shares the next morning. I wish I had more for you ha

I've been selling covered calls on SOUN for a bit and hope not to get called out on Friday. I misjudged my strike. Still a pretty plus if I do get called.

Ride the wheel. With high IV today, sell a $20 put for April, receiving $5.80 in premium. Gives it time to correct and maybe rebound, and even if assigned, your basis is under $15. Can even do a $15 put for July. And if IV crush after FOMC happens, you can always buy it back for a discount, sometimes even if the stock is down a little.

XLRE - Hold $41.50 and this can be more impulsive than a diagonal (which I have shown), pointing to $50 next target. Below $41.50 and this chart is primary and my expectation is a further correction lower.

I just went through all the sectors and couldn't find a single one that is a screaming buy. XLU, XLE, and XLV are due a bounce, but could also continue to bleed down. XLC and XLK are frothy and could see higher, but it's not something Im willing to bet on.
