This indicator has two conditions:
1) cross of 5/12 EMA. I chose this because I felt like 8/21 was not working for me for day trades and I wanted an early entry with earlier awareness of being wrong.
2) traders dynamic index has to be above 50. TDI is a mix of RSI and stochastic. I am playing around with alternate setting on my version, like TDI has to be >40 for longs and <60 for shorts. I could have tried a bottom fisher as well and required the cross of the 5 and TDI below 40 for a long, but I feel like that's knife catching.
In terms of how to use it, first off this isn't infallible and you need to pay attention to general support and resistance areas, but I would probably wait for a 5 minute close with the indicator flipping and then try to get filled on a back touch of the EMA. NQ just flipped, for example. This time of day is inherently low probability, by the way.
Stops can be the cycle low. If you were looking at NQ right now, the most conservative stop would be 12670, the more aggressive stop would be 12658. I took a long at 12684 and I am going to try to exit at 12698 or 12670. I may adjust if I think this is slowing down to the upside.
Options are a different game and well, execution is everything. 0 DTE is especially difficult to time right, so if you're going to do that, size small and give them some generous room.
