Hate bringing up natural gas, but how do you handle stop losses? I set my BOIL stop loss at 6.35 (just below the 10ema line on the weekly) and it barely nicked it this morning, which seems pretty typical for my luck. I find that being 50% on your initial investment is almost as nerve wrecking as being down. Feels like I start to panic sell faster under these conditions.

I think the obvious thing is that as soon as that hits the ex-div date, many will sell and it will drop at least, if not more than the dividend amount.
excuse my ignorance, by why not use a sell stop limit to try to lock in some of those dividend gains at market open, with the added 'protection' that if it drops more than the dividend amount then you can just hold and try again later. or does the drop happen during AH/PM such that the order wouldn't trigger? I don't follow ex-div date patterns (besides that they tend to drop by the amt of the div.)
