Hello from a long way away. Looked like fomo struck the longs at the open once again. Open higher, close lower is a bear market thing.
Big case of "I don't know" for me. In theory, today closed above yesterdays high and the 50MA defended again. We have also closed multiple times between daily 8 and 21 ema. Factor 3 is that a lot of time has been spent in the zone we are in.
Bears in control short term but not having a lot of luck pushing it yet. Volume also diminishing. Probably just have to be tactical.

CVX buyback program is good, but I doubt it will benefit that company and shareholders like XOM buyback has. XOM leadership was way ahead of CVX leadership and the XOM strategy is lapping CVX. CVX is just starting too late, but better late than never. Barron's analyst boosted XOM to a $140 this morn. I entered a new position in PXD at $199.60 - we'll see..Bonfire1996 said:

ETA 9:44am - I thinking PXD is over $205 by close of business Thursday.
This isn't working so far. Intraday the 8 keeps rejecting when it closes in on the 21. That seems like bear control.
spy and qqq consolidating yesterday and today, one hour chart. Bollinger bands closing showing consolidation also waiting for breakout.

Not trading advice, but XOM at $109.50, or better, is a pretty nice ownership number or worthy of an Option review to go Long. .... Div Payout is March 10th. XOM runs to Div Payout and a little after that date. (Remember: It runs until it doesn't, but the trend is your friend and it's been a friend for a very long time)

If China economic numbers come out positive tomorrow, energy is going to run like a scalded dog. It would confirm the re-opening surge and demand for oil in a world-wide crude short supply scenario (that is contrary to many, but we'll see who is laughing last...hint....10 supertankers from China are headed to the U.S. to pick up oil in March, hmmmm,...)
