I have a question. I got called out of some long term appl shares I have had for a few years at 145 last week. Would y'all buy them back now under 145 and swell the 145c for this week?
TBh I was at the boat show and forgot to buy the calls back so I wouldn't get called out, really didnt want to loose them.

I have a question...

If I buy ET which has an ex dividend date of Monday 2/6/23 and I sell calls that expire on this Friday 2/3/23 and I do not get called out, would I receive the dividend?

If options settle on Saturday technically I would still own the shares a full business day before the ex dividend date. In this scenario I am talking about at the money options so if its $13.24 currently and I sell the 2/6/23 $13.25 options and it ends up at $13.30 by Friday and I am not called out early.

Found a winning strategy for the markets.

Step 1: Buy 1 share overpriced crap, I.e CVNA

Step 2: HODL until basically worthless, then buy a bunch more

Step 3: Sell on a spike, PROFIT.

These are the days that separate the pros from everyone else. Notice that they are super active on twitter - it's because they're bored!

These are days when you know that the market moved a lot in one direction and now needs to base and re-auction. Maybe we'll get some action in power hour - probably short covering if i had to guess.

I did the 31st, up 50% already.
Net free on these.

Had to go on meetings for a couple of hours, so set a trailing stop.

Got triggered at $2.5. These are now $4.5.

this morning i bought some SPX calls as we were holding 4050 on ES. unfortunately i had paper hands and bailed, but my trade setup was correct. i was going to hold for the next level up which it did touch. i made 20 bucks instead of several hundred. oh well. sat out after that.

This is unusual price action. It's not normal to see an intra-day gap down at 2:15 central time.

There is a clear downtrend line. You'd want over 4026 to consider being long.

TSLA puts made it a good day.

No way I'd go long right now. But also easing into puts. No direction yet, but I'm leaning bearish.

Well since SPX is now at 4020 I'd say any profit that you have made on calls today should be a good day.

It seems like from the stuff I follow on social media(cheddar flow and a few others) there is a lot of big money going to the put side before the fed meeting. Obviously you shouldn't base a decision from social media but it makes me feel like there could be some crazy squeeze on Wednesday.

I wouldn't worry about put flow. The market is going to do what the market is going to do.

Most traders don't trade fed day and if they do, it's with controlled risk and a clear setup.

My new job is really ramping up. Was available to make my first trade at 2:45 and cut it loose for minus 10%. It wasn't the greatest setup, but it was an 2 minute EMA flip on SPY that immediately flipped again... which is par for the course that late in the day.

Maybe tomorrow will provide some time to trade.

Anything after 2pm has to be a lotto or a setup for the next day.

Totally. And it was.

Was a bit of a force trade… don't get me wrong, the setup was there, just not the ideal time to trade EMA flips.
