I screwed up a VIX trade 6 ways from Sunday.


I was long VIX starting in early August... with last Wednesday being my DTE. I ended up taking a huge loss on them. I was buying them at about 40-45 DTE... I was buying the 30 strikes...

If I had chosen a DTE just 5 days later then would have freakin been a double.

If I had bought less contracts and just bout the 25's it would have killed!

I suck at this really badly sometimes.

The day and week both ended with clear downtrends. If there is a reversal and it started at the end of the day, you won't miss out by letting it confirm over the next 1-3 weeks or so. Look at similar weeks following weekly indecisive candles for confirmation of that theory. If up is next it will take time to prove as the bulls win small battles on the way to larger relevant tests. If it's down, you will know by the end of next week.

As far as I'm concerned inflation is currently closer to 20% than it is 8%.

qqq retraced to 95% of the June low to Aug high. It feels like it will eventually test the June low. We are oversold on the rsi and far from the weekly and daily 5 ema, 3sd on keltner. I sold my puts and sqqq from Thursday in case it tries mean reversion next week and needs a breather. Today 30 minute chart at the 10 ema was golden for good short entries. Everyone have a good and safe weekend and btho Arkansas.
