If i were going to trade the afternoon, i wouldn't go long unless we clear and sustain over 4065. You need a little bit above the gap fill.
On the down side, loss of 4040. You have to assume that 4040 (and 4020) recaptured at this point.

Not for long it seems.
Price based above it for over two hours. You had opportunity to trade long up to the gap fill, at which point, it's wise to exit all or most. I'd consider 4033 or lower for ten minutes to be loss of level, at which point I'd short targeting 4020

-The SPR inventory as of 08/19/2022 was last at this current inventory level in 01/18/1985, 37 years ago

-Crude has been a draw for months after you subtract the SPR release
-XOM share price consistently runs to Earnings Date, to Ex-Div and to Payout Date
-Next share price objective is $102
-The gap to $100 was filled
-Not a top
-Just getting warmed up
-Technicals don't show any weakness
-P/E (it's so low it's a crime)
-$20 billion FCF
-$30 billion stock buyback
-Only thing holding back XOM is its ESG score if that means anything. ESG is on par with Kate Upton laughing at a push-up bra.
