This feels to me like one of those times where everybody was expecting bad news, and the selloff yesterday was partial de-risking in case the news was even worse than expected. So I think we could see just bad news give us a little lift, worse than expected news keep us flat, and it would need to be terrible news to drive us down further. Of course I have zero confidence that I'm right or else I'd have sold puts.
To me this is a day for loto sized high r/r plays and sitting on hands. I've had a small green week and I don't want to lose money today.

Inflation accelerated further in May, with prices rising 8.6% from a year ago for the fastest increase since 1981, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.
The consumer price index, a wide-ranging measure of goods and services prices, increased even more than the 8.3% Dow Jones estimate.
Excluding volatile food and energy prices, so-called core CPI was up 6%, slightly higher than the 5.9% estimate.
On a monthly basis, headline CPI was up 1% while core rose 0.6%, compared to respective estimates of 0.7% and 0.5%.

I guess XOM ending the day at $105 looks "iffy". Just have to sell another set of CC's. My $99's I sold for $1.85 should get assigned. That's fine. I'll reload next week. Rock-N-Roll, let's get it on!

Yep. Some analyst reported demand destruction yesterday and MSM picked it up. SPR is still being depleted and will need to be refilled. EIA showing gasoline supply rose a bit as I recall. Watch for the Windfall Tax, I was thinking it was yapping....as of this morning I think Congress is coming after that tax, I continue to hope not.Bonfire1996 said:

I should clarify that I'm 35 and when I talk class-A stocks, I'm from my perspective of buying and not selling until I want to retire. In 25-30 years, AMZN will be above that.

I'm looking at 399 on SPY as ending today. After all it was mentioned as the model T yesterday. Which means you can probably fade this opinion.
