There's always a force majeure clause in fed leases (i think) and moratoriums count as fm so the lease can get extended when stuff like that happens. Also if new rules get dropped that effect a lease like no operations during blue footed booby migration, it's pretty easy to get extensions/exceptions to help you deal with it.

Regarding the banks' role in all this they're already doing it, check out the last couple pages of the "Houston we have a problem" thread for examples

You're far from a dumbass. I like the caliber of people that this thread attracts.

I'm probably wrong but this massive shift to EVs by everyone doesn't interest me at all. I see more of over promising and underdelivering and a lot of consumers will be disappointed. I'll play swings in their stocks but truly investing in them isn't for me.
I think it will turn into who will own the not as sexy hybrid game in the short game, and the powerboost is a great start for Ford...

Plugging in is just unfeasible for most of the country.

Brokeass or anybody else don't be afraid of hurting my feelings if i need to be corrected. I'm not a landman and i suspect you are, and it's been a lot of years since i had much involvement in onshore fed.

You are correct. Most are willing to take the risk of EPA or other slow downs l. If you have a portfolio of 100,000 plus acres you can buy the lease now and develop it later.

Here's some recent cases:

21 yo middle car of a 3-car MVC. Paraplegic from implement line and below arrival.

This patient had really small Pedicles (channels of bone to place the screws), so I chose a long segment approach. Took our two ribs from the back (costotransversectomy) and got all those bone fragments out of the canal.

No major improvement in Neuro function yet. She says she can feel intermittent pressure in the legs but my partner doesn't believe it.

Yikes. How is she not paralyzed? That's what, T 5 or 6 break? Oh just read she still can't move.
BaylorSpineGuy

Yes unfortunately paralyzed. The spinal canal is wide open now, so hoping she can recover over some time but not super optimistic.

I had one guy about 2.5 yrs ago who was complete paraplegia on arrival and is able to walk a few steps at 2 yrs but certainly not normal walking. These injuries are brutal.

I won't by EV for a long time. Have some battery powered lawn equipment and it just doesn't stack up to the gas powered equipment for power and longevity. Vehicles are the same. If you just need a small task or drive 30 miles a day then EVs might work for you.
The two best purchases I have made the past few years were a battery blower and trimmer; had gas-powered Husqvarna's for several years but eventually spent more time getting them to start instead of actually using them (I know, user issue).

Old enough to remember using electrics with an extension cord so anything cordless is awesome as far as I am concerned.
For small engines only buy ethanol free gas if available in your area. If mixed fuel is required, buy the ethanol free fuel from HD, Ace, etc. If your small engine has a gas cutoff switch, use that. Cut the gas and let it burn up what's in the line until it dies, especially if you're putting them up for the winter. Those tips go a long way in making them easy to start when you need them.
Yes to all of this!

Only thing I'd add is, go 91 or 93 octane. Don't skimp on small engine fuel. Small engine don't like it and it lets you know by not starting. Buy highest octane available. It reduces the cuss factor.

Here's another recent case. 20-something helmetless motorcyclist launched from his bike on the highway (struck by another car?). Details of accident unclear. I was consulted for management of a traumatic brain injury (he presented unconscious). As I looked into it, I realized his head is disconnected from the spine ironically, the most frequently missed injury. This is called Atlanto-occipital dislocation (occiput to C1), and he also had atlanto-axial dislocation (C1 to C2). Nearly 50% of people with this injury diet at the scene usually unable to breathe spontaneously. This patient still in the hospital but surgery was a success. Will see how he recovers from head injury, etc.

Notice the tip of the skull in front (basion) is separated from the tip of the dens of C2 (looks like thumb). Should be no more than 10-12 mm. He was almost 14 mm. C1 is also widely separated from C2 especially in the back.

The post op alignment is closer to anatomic. Basion-dens interval on post op CT around 10-11 mm, so high end of normal but definitely improved.

Some awful images. Once had a dog that looked similar to the first one. A working cow dog. Sent him to surgeons in Dallas and he eventually worked cattle again. I couldn't believe it.

I also can't do what you do make money in the market haha.

In all seriousness, you have all been very welcoming to me in this board. Went through an enormous amount of training and blew most of my 30s and all of my 20s chasing this dream.

Hoping I contribute meaningfully to this board. It's become my number one hobby outside of family and work.

Are you or SoTXAg09 familiar with a prof in the vet school named Dr. Anton Hoffman (I'm not even sure I'm remembering his name correctly)? I was a bio-med undergrad and took my dog anatomy class in the summer of '94 and he was my prof. He might have been retired before y'all were there but he was great and my favorite prof during my time at A&M.

My Med school mentor in Houston (Peds Neurosurgeon) was an Aggie and he would fly a little prop up to College Station every so often and was operating doggy brain tumors (I think he was trying to study GBM's in dogs). Always found that ironic since GBM's are fairly are rare or at least uncommon in kids.

I don't remember the name. I graduated in '88, so may have come after I left.

Back then bio-med undergrad classes were on west campus and though not affiliated with the vet school, a few vet school profs would pickup those classes. I expected them to be aloof and annoyed with us undergrads but I couldn't have been more wrong. They were the coolest and most approachable of any of my other profs and that's why I remember them. Well I may not remember their names but I remember the experiences.

I couldn't either but it's amazing people like BSG can. That's why I get irritated when some people advocate for government run healthcare like Cuba. All doctors and especially specialists like Dr. Strange invest a ton of time and work, the last thing I want is them becoming a government employee. Socialized healthcare advocates are idiots that think the quality of care wouldn't go down. Just go to the DMV, social security or any other government office and get back to me.

Yeah, we probably did have some of the same if you got a Biomed degree. Michael Shively is who I had for the undergrad anatomy class if you are talking undergrad anatomy. He was pretty cool but very tough class.

I'm with you here too. My sister in law lives in Canada. Several years ago she called my wife as we were driving somewhere and complained about a skin condition she was experiencing. I listened a few minutes, gave my opinion and treatment plan. 5 years and multiple specialists later, she was finally given the same diagnosis and treatment plan that a backwoods Texas veterinarian came up with in less than 5 minutes. The way their system is set up, it was a royal pain to get the diagnosis and treatment. It didn't cost her much though.

Maybe it was him but I'm mad at myself because I can't definitively remember his name. Yeah, my degree is bio-med. Informing my parents my senior year that I didn't want to go to med or vet school went over like a fart in church. Oh well, no regrets. I loved my time at A&M.

You nailed the name. Dr. Hoffman taught me small animal anatomy in the fall of '09, and I think is still teaching it. Awesome professor and expected A LOT of us.
