this is pretty far from the mean now and it's not mega volume. i think a retracement bounce is due.

I know this looks bleak, but remember right before the market close we have the single best leader in our entire country, as elected by the people, set to give us all the secrets on how we'll save the economy. I see a limit up close to 4522.

I just bought four 440 XSP calls. Apparently I hate money. I should be drinking and fishing instead.

Nice thing is those don't expire until tomorrow, so you'll get 2 days of disappointment out of them instead of just one. That's twice the value!
(I started buying weekly calls at 440)

Closed these on that reversal. Surprising just over 10% loss.

I went long at 4445 at 10:30 this morning thinking we'd reclaimed and were basing, then got taken to the woodshed for almost 40 points so I feel ya. I sized down and went with wider stops because I thought we could go as low as 4515 (50sma) and still be alright. Only upside is I sized down. Stuck to my plan, I was just wrong.

Some wild low volume action here. Algo trying to fill lower gap and is getting rebuffed. For now.
do you prefer to watch SPX for volume or SPY?
I normally watch e-mini or SPY for volume.
30K... I know you posted it a couple of weeks ago but the old brain ain't what it used to be. What hourly volume do you look for on SPY to consider it normal?
the average volume of SPY is 115M lots per day. The peaks are the open and close obviously. On an hourly basis, I think anything over ~8-9 is notable. Below 6 is low, below 4 is holiday-ish.
We're below 50% average daily volume on SPY with 1 hour to go.

The Fed speaks to threaten more rate hikes and the market dips red. Really need to more closely monitor when the Fed idiots plan to open their mouths so I can trade against that.

Not sure but it makes this drop less meaningful. Maybe we get the real move tomorrow, maybe we get it in power hour. Let's see.

Are you somewhere that the E85 price actually makes sense?
Okay.

My one (1) E85 station changed their fuel offerings.

Here's the update.

E85 = no longer offered
E70 = $2.709
E55 = $2.809
87 = $3.699
89 = $4.099
91 = $4.299

My 2011 Tahoe will get
15.5mpg on E85
18.3mpg on 87

E70 is not exactly what I wanted for the data history I have, but it's what I have today.

E70 at $2.709 / 15.5mpg = $0.1748 cost to go 1 mile
87 at $3.699 / 18.3mpg = $0.2021 cost to go 1 mile

E70 is the better choice economically. Obviously, my mileage should improve in theory as this E70 fuel will contain more gasoline. I'll just have to run a few tanks of E70 and then perform the calculation again. All my prior data is E85 based. Thereby, the cost to travel one mile will be further reduced with the E70 fuel.

It's a BP Station and they now offer their own branded products. Las year, their offering was an unbranded E85 product at the pump.
