This is the third green premarket in a row. It does feel a bit different, but I'm still gonna be a bit skeptical of rushing too much into any gap up.
It will be interesting to see how European stocks close. Asian stocks had a big rally and then closed back down close to where they opened. If Europe does the same would we expect US stocks to be different?

If I compare S&P500 to foreign large cap indices, I notice that the S&P is still over 30% above pre-covid highs, while Euro STOXX50, Japan Nikkei225, and Australia ASX are back below or close to pre-covid highs. I think we ran up further but I also think there's been more manipulation the last several months to keep US stocks from falling as far.
SPY up over 2% pre-market. Going to be a fun day.
The oil pull back today doesn't make any sense.
Nothing has changed with respect to supply and demand since Biden made his Russian oil announcement yesterday.
Feels like the MMs are pulling this back for a better entry.

Fertilizer is a key driver. Takes more fert for corn than beans. Producer commitments to seed companies made beans the favorite planting seed for 2022 based on the early fert prices seen in Aug/Sep'21. So, 2022 planting decisions were made earlier than normal. (We committed to a 2022 corn crop in Sep 2021 then promptly booked fert needs, got lucky. Crop is planted as of 3/3/22) Now, in the Midwest planting beans are hard to source. Producers who paused/waited to commit to what they will plant in 2022 find themselves in the corn camp. If you're a marginal producer in the corn camp with high fert prices, you'll use less fert, reduce your plant population and try to be profitable enough to play the game in 2023. There's still time and maybe some planting beans will surface as a few producers decide a late shift to reduce bean acres and go corn acres. The ground is still frozen here in the Midwest, so there is time, but the big decisions have been made.Spoony Love said:

USDA will report corn acres planted and should appear all nice and normal statistically, but unless those drones and satellites are monitoring plant populations, the real story comes out later. Today I will try my opening hour option trading and then I'll be in shares after that. I've been very successful trading the open but have given it all back, either being too quick to hit to bid and get out or letting things run and getting a green trade reversed on. New Bob today.

SPX needs to get over 4267, TSLA needs to get over 849.9, and QQQ needs to stop being a *****.
Think the market is waiting on crude numbers at 9 central.
Ended up deciding to wait the first 30-60 minutes. Glad I did.

If QQQ, SPX, and TSLA all have the same color candle in the first 15 minutes, the next 30-45 minutes have generally given a good trend. If they split then I watch and wait.
VIX just gave the middle finger formation and QQQ is testing 329.6 now.

A reversal here would be a bounce off the afternoon high for SPX and the 2/23 close for QQQ. Not saying it is a big reversal, but it's not a bad spot for one.
