Couldn't help myself. Had to come back to my desk and bought 8/19 NVDA 250C at 34.20
I'd roll them out a few months and take a credit to help cost average down, unless you need the cash sometime soonAggie1391 said:
I have a question for the board. I f***** up pretty bad, and looking for advice. Obviously, this will be a lesson learned going forward. I sold naked puts for ROKU on 2/18 $280. Clearly, these are a huge loss. But my questions is, how do I proceed? Do I buy them back and use up a ton of cash, take the assignment and immediately write a covered call? Roll them out 6 months? I'm young so have time, but don't necessarily want to drop 5 figures to buy back an option.

Stay out of PYPL for awhile. It is not a good company right now and needs to do some work to get back in favor.wanderer said:
PYPL has decided not to participate in today's rally. Doubly frustrating with BTC a bit perky too.

Back below Friday's high. Nothing is easy these days.
Agree, selling puts you either want to sell as a "put credit spread" trade to define your risk (max loss) -OR- you sell puts at a strike you are ok with owning the shares at long term (cash covered), basically using the premium credited to you to give you a nice little discount if you were to be assigned.Charismatic Megafauna said:
In the future, consider using a bit of your premium to buy a protective put at a lower strike when you sell cash covered puts, it limits your downside by preventing you from being assigned if the bottom falls out. (This is advice i got from one of these guys when i was just starting trying to figure this stuff out)
