Still in MSFT 295 calls given this reversal from the last couple of days and the exdividend date on 8/18 what are y'all thoughts on it continuing or is there decay becoming too greats and it's best to just cut losses on this gift today? Cost basis .93
I reloaded my shorts here at $79. The last 3 times it has hit the upper trend line, it's sold off 5-10% within the next few days. NIO 2:1 call ratio backspread update (for those who care):
I'll have to find another reason to drink heavily, but momma doesn't get a new pair of shoes either. I legged out of the short portion of backspread ($43C) during the dip down during the first 45 minutes of opening today and captured close to 65% of max gain of that particular leg. I expected, and got, the model T retracement, which is where I wanted to unload my long calls ($45C).
What I didn't expect is that by the time it retraced 50%, delta/theta/IV prevented the long calls from moving much. I'll file that one away as a relatively cheap lessons learned on short DTE OTM options! Took a 90% loss on the calls....which I could have taken when I legged out of the short calls. Didn't take max loss on the 2:1 backspread so that's good! But there were probably a dozen better ways to play NIO earnings....like straight puts !! Now I know.

More of the same that we already know. Site selection is done and feasibility and design are underway for plant to start being built late 2021. Mining graphite at the Coosa, AL mine won't happen until 2028. They will be purchasing graphite until then from non Chinese sources. They have filed for patent technology that produces 96% "clean".. I think.. graphite. Apparently its better for environment, cheaper, and more efficient process than what China does.
They are getting like $36M in "cost cutting" breaks over 10 years from state and local level Alabama for building their plant there.
That's the meat of it. Nothing new.
