I was just about to sell some at 2:30 and instincts actually said not to. Didn't get bitten in the ass for a change.

WRI (Weingarten Realty) with a 20.3M volume candle on the 5 min. For some reason the 1 minute isn't loading.

Apparently Kimco Realty and Weingarten approved and closed a merger.

Can someone please explain something to me?

I was preparing to close out part of my puts on PII this morning, and the stock opened and went down even further. I kept reloading my Fidelity acct to see the updated options price to see what my overall net gains would be and how many contracts to close so I could be net free and let the rest run

Well, anyway, by the time the first options of the day became available (about 20 or so minutes in), the stock had reversed and gone up further.

If I had closed, would I be paid on yesterday's closing premium or the current price? I was confused and now I've unfortunately lost my gains. Have 9 more days on the contract so am still hopeful but very frustrated at the moment.

Amateur hour at its finest here.any advice/guidance would be appreciated.

I almost sold the $40 calls for Friday this morning... That would have been a mf disaster. My gut told me otherwise. Prayers up!

So if Fubo had high short interest going into this, can the shorts close out after hours or is this going to put a rocket up its @ss tomorrow when the shorts have to cover?

Unfortunately on options the bid/ask are gone when the closing bell rings, and have no bearing on what bid/ask are gonna be at open. If you want to close something at open you need to look at premarket movement and estimate what that's gonna do to the closing options price (or use an online options price calculator) and put an order in that's optimistic and/or you'd be happy with and try to fill at open. Or there's the oa strategy of short selling shares against your itm calls premarket to lock in gains, then exercise calls to cover your short. This allows you to capture intrinsic value only, no way to capture premium this way. Guessing you can do something similar with short puts but i can't wrap my head around it

What's with some of the stocks ending with high volume at the end of close? (MSFT, APPL, etc.). Like it's some sort of pattern.

Yes, it seems like stocks move pre-market, first 30 minutes, and then the last 1 hour.

AAPL and MSFT have done it the last 3-4 days. Last volume bar of the day being the highest.

Add in TSLA, GOOGL, and AMZN. Are they doing end of day sweeps to either get in or out to deal with AH?

If you're short a stock, you can cover any time the market is open. Being short just means you sold stock you don't own. As long as you can buy stock, you can cover your short. So yes, they can buy the stock to cover their short position after hours.

Yes in Spine guys case if he wanted to lock in his profit on the puts in premarket he could have bought shares equal to the shares controlled by those puts. That locks in your profit. If the stock price goes down the put price goes up, and vice versa.

Anyone figure out what's up with RECAF? I haven't been able to find any news but the stock has taken a beating the last week.

I'm sure some of it is just oil being down in general but they really pulled the rug on this one.

Not saying this will happen but a 5 min candle close below today's low and these might be some targets. Lost the 5, 8, 12 & 21 EMAs today. Last couple times it heads towards the 50.

70.19, 68.50, 67.31, etc.

Loses the 200 and lots of room below to 61.30ish, 595.50ish, 55, etc.

Ah i get it now. Your put gives you the right to sell shares at the strike price, premarket dip allows you to buy the shares for less than strike, then you exercise and sell shares at strike to pocket the difference

Not sure I'm following on why this would've been a disaster? AH is at ~32. Those weekly options will lose all of their IV tomorrow (since it's after earnings).

They were $.05 this morning and $0.16 at the close. I would imagine I could get at least $0.1 tomorrow morning if not more depending on how it runs tomorrow. Maybe disaster was strong but this thing running another 30% this week isn't out of the question in my opinion. I'll probably sell the $40 calls and see if I can get $0.15 ore more. That's 3X what I would have gotten this morning

Maybe it's just me but i don't bother selling calls for 1/4% on stocks i think have growth potential
