I've seen two supposed leaks on $SAVA's presentation today via social media. One shows cognitive scores up 19% (compared to 10% at six months), the other shows up 5% at nine months.

Gonna be a wild ride today kids.

Anyone following this DIDI story?

IPO like 2 weeks ago, high of $18 that day. China hammered them about 3 days later, took stock to a low of $7.16 just 3 days ago.

Now DIDI is talking about taking the company private at possibly $14 a share. This is nuts.
Yes, I'm seeing mixed reports now. DIDI is denying the rumor.

Either way, anything north of 3% is pay day.

This one screamed "buy the rumor, sell the news" to me from the beginning. I'm a neurosurgeon and I see Alzheimer's more than I care to. Am asked to evaluate for NPH for a shunt or they often end up with subdural hematomas from minor falls, etc.

I hate to bust balls but I don't think there's a miracle drug or miracle cure for that condition. No holy grail. Have been very skeptical but didn't have money for puts. Options are pricy in SAVA.

My guess is it will fall back quite a ways.

From what I've read no one's ever had above zero at nine months.

I agree, either way is good. If the 20% number is legit then this is going supernova.

On the subject of dividends...what's the catch with closed end funds? Coworker was trying to sell me on CLM the other day.

It's the 19%.

https://alz.confex.com/alz/2021/meetingapp.cgi/Paper/54395

Quote:

Background: Simufilam is a novel drug candidate for Alzheimer's disease (AD). This small molecule reverses an altered conformation of filamin A in the AD brain, reducing tau hyperphosphorylation and neuroinflammation initiated by A42. In a prior randomized, controlled trial in 64 patients with mild-to-moderate AD, simufilam significantly improved eleven CSF biomarkers of AD pathology, neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation and blood-brain barrier integrity over 28 days, with no safety issues. A one-year, open-label, multi-center study is now evaluating simufilam's long-term safety and tolerability and following cognition and neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia. The study has pre-planned interim analyses at 6 and 9 months.

Method: Approximately 150 patients with mild-to-moderate AD, MMSE 16 to 26, will be enrolled across 16 sites in the US and Canada. Study participants receive 100 mg twice-daily oral simufilam for one year. In addition to safety, patients are assessed on the 11-item Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale-Cognitive Subscale (ADAS-Cog11) and the 10-item Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI10).

Result: Interim results summarize data from the first 50 patients to complete at least 9 months of treatment. Simufilam was safe and well-tolerated, consistent with prior safety results.

Six months of treatment improved patients' cognition scores by -1.6 points on ADAS-Cog11, a 10% mean improvement from baseline (negative score indicates improvement). At 9 months, ADAS-Cog11 scores improved by -3.0 points, a 19% mean improvement from baseline. At 9 months, 69% of patients showed improved or stable ADAS-Cog11 scores from baseline. Mean baseline ADAS-Cog11 score for these 50 patients was 16. Mean baseline MMSE was 22.

Six months of treatment also improved NPI scores by -1.3 points, a 29% mean improvement from baseline (negative score indicates improvement). At 9 months, NPI scores improved by -0.7 points, a 16% mean improvement from baseline. At 9 months, 76% of patients showed improved or stable NPI scores from baseline. Mean baseline NPI10 score was 4.5.

Conclusion: Interim analyses at 6 and 9 months indicate open-label treatment with simufilam 100 mg improved scores of cognition and neuropsychiatric symptoms in patients with Alzheimer's disease, with no safety issues.

I've got 120 shares @ 10.80 so I'm just happy I may break even.

If true, would all my shares be sold at $14 regardless of whether or not I do anything? I've never really dealt with this before.

That test is scored out of 70, and higher numbers suggest more impairment. The avg number to start is 16..that's pretty mild impairment. And it went from 16 to 13. They can make these numbers look anyway.

Do your own DD, but this looks like a trap to me. My dad just lost a bunch of money on CVM and ARDX. They pump this crap but that's just exactly what it is.

Make sure you have snacks and drinks. They don't have to wear a mask while eating and drinking.

PS. Get an empty cup with a straw so they can "act" like they are drinking otherwise you will spend the flight going to the bathroom with your kids.
Great advice, thanks.

I've done what I can on DD, haven't found anyone showing positive improvement of any significance at nine months. Can you help make sense of that?

Unfortunately, it's a horrible neuro degenerative condition. The brain is hard-wired to build these plaques and tangles. They can even be present when there is no AD.

Anyone that lives long enough will eventually develop AD. The human body is wearing down constantly. Statins are probably the best drug on earth.and those are largely generic now.

I don't like this at all. That said, I bought back my $170 CC for pennies on the dollar and just now bought a couple $150 call. High beta, I just can't quit you!

And I bought one $85 put for Sept.

Dude you were on a tear earlier this year with solid weekly gains. Sometimes the markets are just like the craps table - it gives and it takes, gotta ride through the rough dip to be able to be around when the point keeps hitting roll after roll.

Aint nothing wrong with sitting out a bit or just playing the trade with a smaller amount. You'll be back my man

Technical setups blow up quickly in this choppy environment. It's different than being in a clear wave up.

I found a little company courtesy of Joel Greenblatt's website that has been a little gem for me. I only have a couple thousand in it (I'm new at investing and have been slowly oozing money into the market cautiously), but I'm up like 40% in 4 months with this stock.

It's called CPRX. I bought at 4.33. It just eclipsed $6 today (second time in a month). Small company, debt free, one drug in a niche and very small market.

I personally think the company is gonna get bought by a bigger company. No knowledge there but just a hunch after talking to some smart folks.

This ain't a choppy environment in my opinion.

This is just stocks staying at ridiculous RSI and ATR numbers for days/weeks.

That's what makes this fun. Everyone can believe what they want.

Technical setups don't fail at the rate they have been when the market is moving in a clean direction. Just my opinion.
