In TOS there is a study called "Woodies Pivots" and it automatically paints the pivot you want (I use daily).

If positive, what are you expectations of the stock once the markets react to it? I know we both and others probably have calls playing into it but you seem pretty plugged into this one for awhile now.

We joke about moon shots, but I think it would be.

The current standard of care on cognitive improvement with Alzheimer's drugs ends at six months.

SAVA has positive nine month data, they've accomplished something historic in the field.

I think there's been three price targets called by analysts on this (with assumption of positive data coming next week) -

$125, $185, and a thousand dollar valuation given way back in February I think it was.

I think $200 is an easy mark with positive news.

In February they announced results from their phase 2 trials that showed where participants regained cognitive and motor ability with zero side effects. It sent the stock from $20 to $117 in 3 days. If that has carried over into phase 3 then I can see a $100 move in the stock. Other treatments slow down the progression of the disease, their's actually reverses some of it.

My great grandmother died from Alzheimer's and I watched her become a zombie because her mind was gone long before her body gave out. Alzheimer's affects the living more than the victim. I choose to believe, I pray I'm right.

This is my hope as well. I'm in some August 20 calls that need some help right now, but on a more longer term basis I've seen how Alzheimer's can affect someone as it took my dad way too early. As someone who is fearful that I might need some help later in life due to possibly having the disease, any progress now gives me great hope for the future.

Have had a trade go my way today and thought I'd share what I was watching for and how I executed.....because now I'm left with some August monthly calls that are risk-free.

Anatomy of a trade: $BA - 2min chart shown

1) at the open, let things play out a bit, had my watchlist of 15 stocks open in order of percentage green to red, I watch for red's going green to find strength
2) started to see BA creep up from red, to barely red, went to 2min chart
3) Saw BA was against the daily pivot (purple line, I use "Woodies' daily pivots which calculate pivots with a heavier weight on recent price close)
4) Noticed BA broke daily pivot with authority (blue circle), at this point I'm willing to go long on a day scalp expecting to get to R1 so I bought 210c's at $2.38.
5) Rode these weeklies up to Resistance 1 (maroon line) where we pulled back to the opening range high (ORH), this doesn't worry me, this is where a lot of traders enter the play long on the pullback to ORH.
6) Continued to sell some of these calls as price continued to work it's way up, paying myself the whole way.
7) trading at 217 the 210c's were trading just above $7 so almost intrinsic value. At this point I can hold or find a way to sell out and up. I sold these 210c's for this week and bought 235c's for Aug 20 for really good credits.
8) Now my runners are Aug20 235c's at no-risk, if BA runs from here to then, we'll be just fine. If not, the trade is over anyways.

Notes:
If at bullet 3 BA reverses at the daily pivot, I don't play this trade.
If at bullet 5 BA re-enters the balance area deep I think about cutting the trade or lessening the risk significantly on a weekly play like this
On bullet 7, I simply wanted more time on this trade than 3 days.....and for the price of the options out that far, it made sense for me to take a credit and hold awhile. Letting the profits work for themselves.

Final Note:
I know everyone has an indicator or method they love.....I'm really getting into these Woodie's Pivots after ignoring them long ago.....Take a look at what happens to price at precisely R1 and again at R2. These poitns are where price reverses, almost to the penny. Now also realize these pivots are drawn at the bell of the open......so now you see where the strength of these comes into play. I'm having great success using them as strength/resistance lines and when/where to trim/add. Just another indicator to think about that isn't necessarily a laggard.

Ok gang, a friend of mine pointed out that SAVA may not even be in phase 3 trials. I did some searching and here's what I've found.

Quote:

Cassava Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: SAVA), a biotechnology company focused on Alzheimer's disease, today announced the selection of Premier Research International as its clinical research organization (CRO) to help conduct the Phase 3 clinical program of simufilam for Alzheimer's disease. Consistent with previous guidance, Cassava Sciences plans to initiate this Phase 3 program in the second half of 2021.

"Having completed over 250 clinical studies in neuroscience, we believe Premier Research International understands how to conduct clinical studies in patients with Alzheimer's disease," said Remi Barbier, President & CEO of Cassava Sciences. "With Premier Research as our CRO partner, we now look forward to advance simufilam into Phase 3 clinical testing."

"Premier Research is pleased to be Cassava Sciences' CRO of choice for this pivotal program," said Krista Armstrong, Senior Vice President, Clinical Development Services and Global Head of Neuroscience, Premier Research. "Premier Research has deep experience in conducting complex studies in neuroscience. We look forward to bringing our extensive knowledge and experience in Alzheimer's disease to Cassava Sciences' pivotal Phase 3 program of simufilam."

About Premier Research

Premier Research, a clinical research and development company, is dedicated to helping biotech, specialty pharma, and device innovators transform life-changing ideas and breakthrough science into new medical treatments. For more information, please visit https://premier-research.com
If they haven't started the phase 3 trials, don't expect an update this weekend. Hopefully, someone else can find something more substantive. I still believe in stock but I know some of you are in calls, I own shares. Plan your risk accordingly if you have calls because they expire. Everyone is expecting them to say something this weekend so a runup into Friday will probably occur. I just don't want anyone here getting caught bag holding calls should SAVA not say anything.

10 Basis Reversal in Treasuries and Large Contra Steepening... Reversal Tuesday

We talked with a floor reporter yesterday afternoon who predicted a "reversal Tuesday"... Nicole, good job... Treasuries soared to new low yields this morning... We had targeted 1 10 years as good resistance, about 50% of the retracement from the low in treasury yields of last year and the high f 1.77 this year... We got to 1.126, not bad for government work... Equities started out last night much higher... Gave back a chunk after Apple announced they were moving back their return to office strategy by a month... But equities continued to build as NY opened... And basically reversed all of yesterday's losses in the S+P... And did better in the Nasdaq and Russell 2000.... Corporate bond spreads tightened and we saw 8 issuers tee up to price today.

You are correct in that they haven't started phase 3 yet.

The catalyst coming is next week is the Alzheimer's Association International Conference, running Monday through Friday next week. I saw somewhere online that next Thursday they are supposed to present an update with nine months of data on the trial currently under way.

I've got an inquiry in with investor relations to confirm when they'll present.

NCLH update from yesterday's thoughts. Not sure if anyone played this.

All 3 alerts I had set went off. Yesterday's high, $23 and the trendline. Was up about 10% at one point.

Rejected at the 5EMA & -2ATR then closed right at the trend line. Will see if continuation tomorrow.

For Cassava, there is a crystal clear path to valuation realization with numerous catalysts (~9) on the immediate horizon. On July 29th, Cassava will be presenting two data sets that will be better than any company has ever presented. 9 months of cognition (ADAS-Cog11) and 6 months of CSF biomarkers will be followed by 12-month ADAS-Cog11 scores in September/October. Thereafter, their two phase III studies will commence. With ~$282 million in net cash, Cassava has sufficient capital to complete both phase III studies.

Keep us posted on that inquiry. Would be great to know the day they're presenting. I've been assuming it will be the 29th (last day of conference).

Just to add, they've had this 9-month data since May and decided to hold it until the conference. This leads us to believe the data will be good.

As far as predictions for the price, Biogen added $30B to their market cap when the FDA approved their controversial AD drug. That's 10x the current market cap for SAVA. I'm not saying this will happen but I'm not saying it won't.

Spreads make it more palatable. But yeah it's definitely YOLO pricing, has been since their phase 2 data came out.

For example, August 120/135 spread was $2.50 this morning.

Heck, you can go out and get the 160s for under $4 still. It's going to be well over that if they present good news next week.

You buy a call at the lower price, sell one at the upper price (as a single transaction).

Your cost is the spread between the prices. Assuming it ends up higher price than your sell call, your profit is the difference between the spread and the cost of spread.

So as an example, a spread I bought earlier was the 120/135.

Difference between them is $15.

Cost of the spread was $2.50.

So $15-$2.50 for a $12.50 profit per share, i.e., $1250.

It caps your upside if it comes in way over the upper price, but does let you buy into something like this without having the capital investment of say buying calls outright.

The August ones have been overly juiced for a while. I was told not to sell calls into these a while back (I think by ag2000) b/c of the conference. Although without the pullback I would have lost my shares last week. Been a crazy run-up so far. Feels good not to have to stress it going on a tear now, but still not sure if I won't sell some calls.
