I took the advice of the board and paid myself with some of the profits from this year and the family joined Disney Vacation Club yesterday. And yes it's probably not the best financial investment in the world but the amount of times my wife and kids go, it will end up paying for itself (not sure if that's good or bad)

Thanks to everyone for their ideas and teachings, I've learned so much over the past couple years

We've been DVC members since 2005 and have used the heck out of it. I can tell ya - if you use it (and would have stayed on site regardless) it sure does work out vs paying out of pocket.

It's not an investment as much as an enabler - we've brought family and friends here with us and haven't thought twice because of DVC. For us - absolutely no regrets (full disclosure - sitting here at Disney Springs as I type this as we wrap up a 10 day stay here at Saratoga Springs - lol).

Enjoy!

Great feedback and good to hear! We picked Saratoga as our home base as we stayed there recently and loved it with the renovations + it was cheaper than most of the other properties

FJ,

Thanks for taking the time to do that! May be best to stay on the sidelines on this one then.

You never know with insider buying. Could have short term possibilities. If you look at the long term monthly chart there is lots of upside potential. Just may take a long time.

Would have been great to catch that down back at $5, go net free along the way and let the rest ride.

We have been taking our kids to Disney every year since they were born. The costs are insane these days, but the kids are on cloud nine every time we go. It all comes down to what people enjoy spending their money on and you are doing things that bring joy to your kiddos. Fortunate group here that unity and determination allows all of us to become more financially independent. Congrats!

We took our kids to Disneyworld and it was always such a fun experience for all of us! We've now taken the grandkids and it's fun seeing the same excitement in their eyes as we saw in their parents. I enjoyed the parks as much as they did or more! My wife and I have actually talked about going by ourselves soon just to enjoy it at whatever pace we want!

Does anyone have any insight on Triterras (TRIT)? I know they have had issues producing their earnings report and are in the sights of the NASDAQ people for negative reasonsbut this is a company with disruptive technology in the FinTech world. If that earnings report is good and they get cleared, this company could pump. Humongous risk but enormous potential.

Small float, high short interest, small cap/micro cap company. Get a feeling this one could be primed for a squeeze, too.

And one of my recent long term holds is called KLIC. Semiconductor play with good upside. Recently exited a cup and handle but fell back a good bit. 1 yr PT is currently 25-35% away from current price.

59South pretty sure has TRIT and knows a thing or two about them. Maybe he chime in. He's across the pond in the UK.

I've traded it but haven't kept as a long-term hold. I believe our Saxon brother may still hold quite a bit of this one. There was quite a bit of discussion here 6-9 months ago.

Yes I have found he has some good plays and has a lotto Friday type tweet. What is lost is the intraday feeds.

What I have also learned also is that many to most of all of these guys are keyed in on the same names with the occasional unique one or two thrown in. With the exceptions of Ripster & Redler.

There are a half a dozen that provide some potential plays that I think are good follows in terms of seeing overlap.

Ok we've played this once before and may be ripe for round 2 or 3 or 10 whichever it is.

X

  • Has a history when breaking downtrend to move back up within 10-14 days.
  • Bounced at long term trend line.
  • Broke downtrend again.
  • Closed over the 50EMA
  • MT is 25.78 from H to most recent L

Chart below with Aug 20 Options chain. 25C & 26C & 30C had some activity on Friday. There are weekly options on it as well if you are a nut case like me. 7/16 25C would probably be my play.

No big secret here but this is probably going to be a weekly options scalp.

Same here no secret.

Break Friday's high which just happens to be the downtrend (actually started back in Jan) and failed Apr 20th previously.

Probably a solid weekly scalp.

Started the Yellowstone series a few weeks ago. On season 3 now, but it's got me to thinking. Why do we run this rat race with our family and kids? I would love to have a ranch and accomplish a full days work everyday. Kids would learn a lot about life and growing up l. No "big city" lights to turn them the wrong way. I grew up in Houston and don't know the first thing about running a ranch but would I love to get dirty and get **** done.

So I switched mortgage companies and had a two week break in between. First day spent just goofing off and taking it easy, but after that I started looking for things to do. The little lady was more than happy to oblige; I cut the grass, trimmed hedges, trimmed trees with nothing but an 8 ft ladder and a handsaw, reorganized the garage, fixed the weedeater, laid down mulch in the front, sprayed for mosquitoes, fixed a sprinkler head and a bunch of other stuff. I felt so much better about myself than when I'm selling refisyeah it was hot as hell and I came in every day covered in filth, but I slept like a baby each night and didn't have a shred of stress about anything. Got myself a nice farmers tan too. Loved being outside and doing physical workso good for the soul.

Funny, my dad tried teaching me this stuff when I was a pre-teen but all I wanted to do was chase girls. I guess his lessons finally seeped in.

Back to wearing slacks and looking at interest rates on Monday..

This is the World Famous TexAgs Stock-Market thread, gentlemen. We're here to make money and help others do the same. But OA is leaving us soon and we're counting on bad-asses like you carrying the load even more than you do now.

So dream about farming and ranching on your own time - we need stock picks and strategies from you, not daydreams of shoveling horse poop.

On the weekend I still get up early but I ride my bike n my closet and then run on the treadmill. Good 2+ hour workout, will be closer to 4 hours beginning in august.

A lot cheaper than a ranch.

Take up triathlon. Lots a time dedication and has plenty of meaning.

Agree, it's the same feeling. I have ran a few marathons. The months of training, getting up at 5 am to run everyday and to see your results at the end of the race is a great feeling. Maybe I need to aim for Boston.

I'm going to be completely honest with everyone on this board. Doing it ain't easy.

My wife and I moved out of the Houston area with 3 kids. From a 5A school to a 2A school.

I still work full time e and the wife only works two days a week. We are growing a small farm and providing our own food in the mean time.

Everyday is a new set of challenges. Everyday brings opportunity for a new lesson. Weekends are filled up with projects. But I go to bed completely exhausted.

I wouldn't change it for anything though. If it's itching, go and see what it's about. It ain't easy but I wouldn't have it any other way.

This. Quality of life.

It's different. You wouldn't understand until you have one kind of thing. I was raised in ranch life. Miss it dearly.

Applaud you for following yalls hearts. Nothing worth having is easy to achieve. It's worth it in the long run.

While I love the 'game' and helping others be financially successful, I've told my sons since they were probably 5 or 6 never to chase the dollar. You'll spend your whole life chasing it and if you catch it, the rest of your life trying to protect it. I spent too much of mine chasing and protecting.

Wealth gained hastily will dwindle. but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.

We've got some land and a house in east Texas that we enjoy getting away to. I leave sore and tired from working. Cutting down trees, chopping firewood, cutting grass, etc. Unfortunately the hustle and bustle of life limits our opportunities to go. (Been 3-4 times this year).

My problem is that my income potential is 3-4x in the city vs small towns. I recently had an opportunity to go run a market for a competitor in my hometown. If it would not have cost me my marriage (wife and kids are not moving), I'd have gone in a heartbeat.

I'm not mad at my family because we are happy with our life in the city- but a slower pace would be amazing. Although I'm certain it has its own drawbacks that I can't see from this view.

My financial goal is to have walking away money ASAP. I'm investing in the market, in real estate, as well as a few selected investments in operating companies. My goal is complete financial freedom by the time my youngest leaves for college (9 years). At that point, my wife and I can pack up and go. Our lifestyle won't require the 3-4x income (but hopefully my investments will have made up the gap).
