Spikes don't scare me on something that is 1 cent. Every penny I've bought was on a spike. I've gone net free on GBCD, GGII, GVSI, and MJWL.

I'm NOT net free on 10 of them, but MJWL has paid off all the other ones easily by itself.

And by the way, I never do more than $500 on a penny, usually only $100.

I've been using some opening range trading techniques lately with decent success. Here is a quick tidbit on breakdowns.......TSLA was a shining example today......Breakouts are the opposite....

1) My opening range is the first 30 min of the day, the high of the first 30m and the low of the first 30m are your ORH and ORL.
2) After the OR is set, a break of the low is a short opp, a break of the high is a long opp. Also, if a break occurs, you can wait for a 2nd pullback to the OR area to take your position if you want more confirmation.
(Notice on TSLA each time it's come back to the OR today it's rejected...just not much today)

Here is the opposite, a breakout courtesy of AMZN today. I took a position long on the pullback to the ORH.

My rules are pretty laxed.

I use a closing candle on a 2m or 5m outside the OR to be confirmation of the break.
Most responsible people would wait for the break, then a pullback to the OR, then take the position. I don't always, but if I take the trade I'll use a stop or mental stop at the OR or just inside it to make sure things don't go south.

The important thing is the closing of a candle outside the opening range. You jump the gun and you're gonna get reversed lol.

P.S. I also like these earlier in the day, say before or right at lunch.... if something range breaks in Power Hour, I'm not taking it.

Thanks, I've dabbled a bit in it. Was missing the confirmation of closed candle outside the break part of it. Been working but definitely got stopped out of a few that I should not have entered without that.
