It is not a typo. Not sure who knows what or why but that analyst has had that out there for at least 3 months. If that happens I don't think anyone here will ever have to wonder where the tailgates are cause this group will have the tailgate market covered

I have July 55s and August 45s. I think I'm going to roll the aug ones to $50 due to the massive movement still. I have enough to roll and not spend more money. It's just insane movement.

It's listed as "KC Channels" then in the settings you can choose avg. true range and the multiplier.

Every trader has been there and if you meet one that says they haven't, they're lying. Long weekends aren't as fun when that happens. My best advice is don't dwell on it, regroup, refresh and focus on next week.

I have introduced this concept to my friend and new business parter and he was stunned. Learning how to sell calls and sell puts is eye opening.

His dad leaned a simple lesson on selling calls and has made 10% in a week. Did it as a test on RIG. He is in love. I told him volatility is a hard sword to lay on but great when it is working. Turned $400k into $440k in a week and now has a taste of covered calls. I refuse to teach people anything but covered calls and cash covered puts (selling puts)

Much appreciated FJ! Got this fixed on my trading view and helps a lot! Does anyone know why when I save the layout on my desktop that the settings on my mobile app won't show?

Started app again and everything works now

Word of caution and preface. I love to help people be financially successful. I'm not OA, but I can mentor up to an intermediate trader. You will find people who don't want to put the time in, don't want to learn, just want you to tell them what to trade, and will be pissy if they ever have a losing trade.

Very few will put the real time in: waking up at 4 to check futures, looking at hundreds of charts for setups, developing a trading plan, monitoring the market all day long, learning new tactics every day.

1000% agree. How I describe it is a limit order to buy and limit order to sell.

If you can grasp that concept then you can sell calls and sell cash covered puts. I don't go beyond that because even if I was fully liscensed I wouldn't have people taking educated guesses on stocks.

I can ask "are you ok with buying at X price?" Or "are you ok with selling at this price?"

That's how I teach.

I understood covered calls pretty quickly and have done well with them....matter of fact I sold my first CC exactly a year ago thanks to the explanations by the people on this board. I go a little further OTM than some others might go, so my premiums are less, but it still is pretty cool renting out some of my stocks.

Problem is I could never wrap this old brain around the "put" side of trading. No matter how many times people explained it, I just couldn't get the logic. Last week, someone (I think 30K) said that WWR Nov puts seemed like easy money. That, coupled with everyone else's explanation, a light bulb finally went off. I realize the risks, but if I could get premiums and the possibility of owning a stock I probably want anyway, this is another good tool to have.

Would not have been possible without the great people of this board. You guys are awesome.

By the way, I hope everyone has a great and safe 4th of July weekend. Mrs frankm01 and I are taking our yearly trip to visit family in New York (Long Island specifically). For the 2nd year in a row (and since I am retired) we decided to drive again. We'll leave Texas on Tuesday and God willing, get there on Thursday.

Well said Prog. I've been there and not just once. So true long weekends aren't as fun ending in that note if you take this seriously.

I headed into the weekend angry with having to wait to be Josey Wales until Tuesday. My little test really made me mad at myself for taking steps backwards and my primary accounts were meh while the markets made new ATH.

Just a reminder to everyone... be patient and wait for volume and your levels to confirm a dip, drop, or pullback. Most think it'll happen but don't rush in now only to see this melt up a few more weeks and when the dip happens you minimize your profit.

A quick glance at volume on the weekly S&P shows that this week was the 5th lowest volume week since August. Kinda typical of holiday weeks. I think we see some early green Tuesday then a pullback as volume returns. Had I been at the computer Friday afternoon I'd have bought Puts on probably a couple of things. Not ready to think through the next couple of weeks yet. I'll do that tomorrow or Monday.
