Here's another perspective for ya then. I had fidelity managing an IRA for several years and with the doom and gloom forecast leading up to the election/covid I moved all the money to a self directed account even though my rep told me he was still seeing some "upside" left in the "business cycle". I planned on managing it myself but mostly staying cash. My fidelity rep called me after six months - since he calls me twice a year and we compared notes - where I was and where I would have been had I left the account alone. I hadn't made much money - didn't expect to. Sadly, I would have "made" 18% in those six months had I left it in the Fidelity managed account. That's a lot of money. I'm not pimping Fidelity, but I gave them back a bunch of money to manage, and kept some money to "play" with. My point is, some of us will not outperform "the pro's" until such time as we become a lot better than we are - and some of us may never be able to outperform them for whatever reason(s).

I doubt it, but I certainly haven't proven I'm not.

Buy the dips until the trendline from March 2020 fails remains the strat in #ES_F. Yesterday, my support was 4265 & we tested 4264.25 & rallied 20 points.

Tuesday Macros
Treasuries Marginally Lower... Cant Get Through Resistance For Now
We saw a treasuries, reflation unwind, type of trade yesterday... The catalyst was the talk that Joe Manchin, who seems to have more power than the President at the moment, would not support a infrastructure bill higher than 2 trillion in the reconciliation process... Curtailing the absurd talk from Schumer of a 5 trillion package... Treasuries rallied from the Friday rate lock lows of 1.52-1.54 to the resistance level of 1.47... But could not get through that.
Delta variant is getting a lot of press outside the US... This could slow down global growth, but that has not stopped European confidence levels from soaring well above expectations this morning. Economic Confidence soared to 117.9 and Services Confidence came in over 2% higher than expectations... Meanwhile the US economy continues to be strong...
Today we expect some back and forth... Short covering is done for now as reallocations and extensions are awaited for tomorrow's month end and quarter end... With S+P's up about 1.1% and Bonds better by .7%, we do not expect much from the reallocation trade... The duration extension is more meaningful... But we think some of that was done yesterday...
Fed speak will not be an issue. Barkin will be in an MNI event.. Bostic and Bartin speak tomorrow... We do not see any expected Fed headlines of consequence until we get the non farm numbers on Friday... The WSJ has a good piece saying that the Fed is considering curtailing their mortgage purchases first and leaving treasuries alone... While mortgages are absurdly expensive given the lack of needs to support housing, the amount of treasuries the Fed is buying currently exceeds the treasury supply... That is monetizing the deficit for sure... It will change if the infrastructure gets passed... But for now it won't change that quickly.
Equities...still expensive... Stanley doubled their dividend... But for now we see too much money on the sidelines destined for equities... It will change and we will see a correction... But that is not on our radar for the moment.

BIGC is an OA favorite and had a lot of volume on Friday. Anyone care to provide their thoughts? I'm in it with a small position currently.
So on the topic of trading full time. I'm nowhere near that but I always see some of y'all talking about making sure to pay yourself after earning some profit or however you decide. What % of a trade or % profit do you typically take out to pay yourself? This account is pretty small for me so I'm assuming we're talking not a whole not until I can grow my account a lot more.
