LOL, let me guess, you live in a new subdivision in a city or suburb touching a city with a MUD district? I'm sorry you have to deal with that.

I have no idea how you have a $600 water bill. Both of our places have wells, and I'll never live in a city or overcrowded suburb again where you get a 1000 cuts of fees here and there by the municipality and HOAs.

I used practically no water one month (out of town and, as a proper austinite, have a **** yard that I don't water) and my bill was still close to a hundred bucks due to all the bull**** fees.

You can go either the natural route or chemicals. I did both. I see one out there every other day now, so I consider that a win.

Natural: there is a product out there called mosquito barrier (not to be confused with garlic barrier which is diluted I believe). I put about 6oz of the stuff per gallon of water along with a teaspoon of dish soap and 20 drops of citronella oil. They sleep under the leaves of trees and shrubs, you you gotta soak those. Hit the awnings and even the brick and concrete on your patios. This is a repellant, so it won't kill them but keeps them at bay for a while. It will smell like an Italian restaurant for about 24 hours but it goes away after that.

In order to kill them I use Bifen XTS which is oil based. Bifen I/T is another product that's out there but it's water based and a third as strong. Hit under the leaves of trees and ceiling of patios. ****s nasty so use PPE.

Did both of these a month ago and ain't a got damn thing stirring out there now. I can now grill in complete peace.
