SPY

Updated with a few things.

  • Levels are close but didn't try to get overly exact.....I'm hungry.
  • Bottom of volume profile support.
  • The gap.....not much in the gap in terms of support below 411 with a little 404/5ish (which is about 100SMA)
  • Next larger at 398 & 393.

Below 414 then 411 (-2 ATR) could be gap fill to 398-400 IMO which would be 6-8% pullback.

The hope for an uptrend continuation is repeat of the 50EMA back tests indicated by the arrows.

Assuming markets don't crater, $JPM might be a good candidate for a RDR with gap-fill play. Take out Friday's low of $147.50, put in a new low, then reclaim $147.50 and target $151 for gap-fill. It's at about -4 ATR right now and has been rejected hard by the 5SMA going back to June 8 which should be around that $151 mark on Monday as well. It's been beating up and volume on Friday was ~4x what the normal 50 day average is but could work for a quicker trade, like a weekly $150c or 150/152.5 spread. 146.63 looks like solid support.

Who got drunk and wrecked the SPYs Friday?? I took off around 9:30 and missed a lot of good action. What's crazy is SPY gaps down and closes at the lows meanwhile QQQ puts in an inside day and is still above the 8/21. Interesting divergence.

For me....that is a reflection upon them. I do personally understand how that feels though. In our case I think we've gifted larger at times to family members and we probably created their expectations.

What's the thoughts on re-entry for CLOV? This was originally a ~$30 target and we basically did that. You guys walking away now, or go for round 2? I sold my all my net free and deciding when to get back in. It looks like we closed the gap.

Do we start over at this level, wait for it to settle a bit more, or wait for a market correction? Could sell a choice of Aug Puts at strikes to get 8s or 9s cost basis if assigned.

Not exactly sure what to do with a chart like this, or maybe just ignore the crazy and focus on the rest of the chart.

I got assigned on half of my shares when I sold deep ITM $10c calls on shares when Clov hit $19. My thought process was I wanted those gains but if it crashed below 10, I'd keep.

I'd probably look to sell later in the year puts during the July/Aug slump we likely get. Also Ok to buy shares and sell multiple month out options. I still have Aug 7.5 naked puts im sitting on.

I love to cook, it's a passion and probably should have gone to culinary school instead of A&M but no regrets. I usually plant a nice size garden and been pickling for years. Several years ago I pickled some cucumbers with fresh dill, garlic, habanero slivers (2) and horseradish. They came out very good and the pickles and okra have a nice bite.
