I regularly play Call or Put spreads early in the week on one of a handful of stocks. This drop on the Fed event was the entire reason I sold a GOOG Call Spread Monday instead of a Put Spread. I had no intention of riding either to Friday but I was confident the market would tank in the wake of his speech. Sold a 2445/2550 for $1.30 and set my GTC purchase at $.65 which triggered about 30m after the minutes were released. I haven't really spent the time teaching myself to play daily VIX or SPY or but scalping premium on holding spreads for a couple of days is not too terribly difficult anyway but this one was actually a pretty easy win. It's like we (the markets) all know things are a mess but we're able to block that out until they force us to acknowledge it which happens when the Fed steps up to the microphone.krosch11 said:

Haven't sold CC's all month for that reason and of course today I do that right before Powell speaks and it tanks then sky rockets... I will be ok if it stays around $5 by next Monday.
