Somehow I missed that ASO runup at the end of the day.

41.70 close,

Yaaaaaass! Go baby go!
I sold june 45 call....bought back for 20% return the other day....then sold 50 call to squeeze a little more.
As soon as June expiry past I'm going to look at august calls and target 55 or 60.... hopefully

I don't see any reason it won't see $4.50 at some point down the line. That's why my goal is to get as many net free shares as I can by the $2.50 mark.

BTW that example I gave on disparity on $2.50 call versus movement on price becomes even more to share price advantage at your higher call strikes. You would see share price at $2.80 for $1/share gain and the $5 call only move $0.20.

I am doing the same thing you are. I'm in about 40K shares at this point.

who is it and how much are they charging? I don't see why you shouldn't pay if it makes money for you.

Can I find all of my own setups, yes, but do I get exposure to a lot more from Simpler, Redler, and Hidden Pivots - yes.

So what is the best alternative? TOS? I've used their mobile in the past with success, actually what I used before deciding to consolidate brokerage, I don't like their desktop for trading though. At least for me I cannot figure it out.

Maybe tastyworks? Ive used them many years ago before I had any idea about set ups.

I've continued to load ELOX shares leveraging the excellent premium valuation. How many shares will I buy will depend on how many covered calls get filled at the ask. To me this is about the best trade for super large positions due to being able to leverage calls that would leave you at or below where the largest institutions dropped millions. I had 50 more fill so just bought 50k more shares creating a fun spike.
Which covered calls are you selling?
The prices seem too low and not worth it to mess with.

ESSPYKing on twitter, he's going to a $44/mo fee to be in his discord.

I'm on the verge of understanding the levels myself, I should probably take that fee and get Sierra chart and feed myself the knowledge of the DOM.

I am going to preface this by saying I don't expect any type of fireworks next week with quarterly OPEX.

But it's time to ask: are you bullish? It has been a long time since we've had an EMA cross on the weekly (over a year). For that matter, we haven't even had an 8/21 convergence. Look how wide those spreads are. Looks really bullish on a chart doesn't it? Right when a bunch of suckers are going to get into the markets - the economy is reopening, you know.

This is the fintwit model.

Build a following by giving out free information. Create a 'community'. Build it up with enough #s so that when you charge for a service, a certain % will convert to a paying customer because they enjoy the info/community too much not to. Rake in some $$$ for a short while.

Then after a while and you've sucked up enough monthly subscription fees, the community will die or disband. Re-invent yourself under a new alias and build up a new community. Rinse, repeat.

I'm sure there are some genuine people out there that are running real services, but I've followed it enough now I'm pretty sure there is are group(s) of people out there that are in on just building certain people up by 'recommending' them and promoting their twitter as a 'great follow'...then that person gains followers and after a couple months is starting a service. Hate to say it, but I think its true. Always have to be cautious about who you follow and give hard earned $ to. There are definitely legit people out there, but also fakes that are just running a scam to get your money.

Can you post a list of the people you follow and/or subscribe to and what they provide? I'd like to have several different sources I can go to, looking for the overlap of recommendations, levels, etc. I follow several on Twitter now, but I'm always looking for more!

Because while I might be able to find my own setups that I think are good, I don't trust myself enough to execute those without some confirmation from someone else who is more knowledgeable than me (which is basically everybody).

this is who I pay attention to and whose opinions I value (free)

  • OA / TexAgs
  • Adam Mancini
  • Ripster
  • Zack Morris (more for entertainment)
  • PharmDCA (biotech)
  • TicTockTick (also entertainment, but dude is smart)
  • Trading Thomas (now that he has a sub, not as good)
  • Julia Cordova
  • Don't fade me
  • Northman Trader (we are too similar in macro view, but he is really really smart)
  • Jam Croissant (Cem Karsan)

Who I pay for and why:

  • HiddenPivots - charts/setups. There is simply not a better chartist that I have found. HP is absolutely amazing and the value for the cost is unreal. If you are an intermediate or greater trader, I don't see how you can't follow him.
  • Scott Redler premium - not the VTF but his premium twitter/newsletter and video recaps. These are great Honestly, Scott is a little hard to follow if you're trying to read his twitter, so I do it just for the newsletter/commentary. He's a solid trader. I don't follow his picks often, but his commentary is worth it. You need to be an intermediate trader to get the most value out of Scott
  • Simpler Trading options gold - live trading 8-3 every day. I pay attention to Henry Gambell and John Carter, explicitly for the commentary. They're both better traders than me. If I agree with their judgment I will sometimes enter the same or similar trades. Raghee is a solid trader, but we are stylistically so different I can't follow her. I'll listen to what Bruce says sometimes. I don't think the junior traders have an edge over me, so I don't really listen. They have other subscriptions, I have never tried them so I don't know if they're good or not. Their indicators are very good, you can find similar on TOS or customize it yourself. Side note, indicators are to confirm your judgment, not to tell you what to do.

If you are newer to trading, Simpler is probably the best possible education you can get and I think it would shorten your learning curve. I think their current rate is $200/month, so you've got to be committed to get value out of that. I have noticed that Carter is less active in getting on the live trading sessions than he was a couple of years ago and what they say does get a bit repetitive. Still, it is good to surround yourself with other traders if you want to be successful with this. It really helps to hear other qualified opinions to avoid your own bull crap and confirmation bias. Trading can be a very lonely game.

Thinking back to the genesis of this thread, I regret not being an active participant years earlier, but I think OA is probably happy with the quality of traders that have developed and stepped up to be part of this community. Work from home was my catalyst to re-engage. I can't say enough about how amazing this board is.

I have accounts with IBKR and TDA/TOS.

Trading wise including trading hours, pricing and order execution hands down IBKR. IBKR Pro is solid.

TDA has really good customer service from past experience. TOS app is good. TOS is good.

IBKR since they established their Key Accounts contact line it's been great.

IBKR platform isn't for early stage users. Takes some time to get it sorted out. But once you do it's slick.

I'm with you. I really like Ripster whether someone uses his methods with the EMA clouds or not. He seems to be genuine and I think has a disciplined system he goes by. Much respect for that. He gives out a ton of continuous knowledge, setups, experience, etc. for free. For now anyway. I've always wondered when he would have a private subscription service and I do expect that to become a reality.

Not that I don't agree with him being able to do that. He's put in the time, effort, wins and losses to be successful.

I think there is probably a solid model for some of these guys not to charge for their services but be sponsored by various companies of the products they use. Broker platforms, software, news feeds, etc. No different than an athlete that makes it. There is probably a lot more money in that path if someone thinks outside the box.

As for ES levels, this guy was fantastic. His sub announcement though has warded off some of his best helpers. I followed them into a new room. We will see if they can organize.

In a perfect world I would do what ESSpyKing does on ES for the NQ and make us all boatloads of money.....but I'm not close to that.

While profitable in my test cash scalping account I ended frustrated. Very. I gave away about 40% of potential profits to crappy discipline. This week has some really great trades I mismanaged. All on me.

Setups fail. Discipline shouldn't.

Week 3 - $2,160 realized gains.

3 week test - 10k < 18,120

Hope I don't blow the final stretch. Completely possible. Can't seem to fix discipline yet.

Thanks and yes for 3 weeks good. It needs to be sustainable though. I'm a glass half full person but after 3 decades in business I've been shaped to look at the weaknesses. Next week I'll practice what I preach. Blocking and tackling. It's easy to get sidetracked in this game when you're on the winning side.

For me I like the nice balance I'm testing of the main account MA approach and this cash flow generation micro test. If I can prove it to myself I'll continue and increase size with each trade proportionately. Still not there yet. This week proved it to myself anyway.

If it works momma will be happy. If not I'll come sleep at one of yalls house.
