ELOX advice needed
sitting on 200 shares at $1.64 cost that I bought a week or two ago. Didn't get cc sold in time and it dropped in price so I waited as OA1 kept pointing out reasons it should pop. Now it has....just question of how far it runs.

But I want to get a CC sold soon.....pigs/hogs deal....so here's what I'm looking at
with $3.28 cost basis I'm looking at the following:

a) sell July 2.50 call for around 0.68 and if called out my remaining 100 shares cost $10

b) sell August 2.50 for 0.80 and if called i'm truly net free

c) sell November 2.50 and if called net free and then some. If not called cost cut way down to around $1.10 cps

d) sell November 5.00 call for around 0.60. Gets cps down around the same as the first two choices but if called gets even more return and if waiting as long as november thinking higher return is worth it

e) keep watching and seeing if it has more run OR if it falls back look at the November 2.50 for 0.78 as my stop

what would you do?

hell yeah amigo!! I love following your posts. Been following this thread for just about a year now and will say it's apparent you've put in the time and effort to really improve tremendously as a trader. I'd say most improved as far as my novice eyes can tell.

I wish I had the time to devote to it. I'm trying to learn but my job only allows for bits and pieces. Slowly chipping away.....

Having shares tied up to November seems like a bad idea.

I'd wait for a run up (one could argue it has started) and then look to sell July $5s when premium gets juiced.

Sold another 1/5th at 4206.

Moving stop on remainder to Breakeven.

Still going to watch for what I described above.

I'd love to let bigger positions run, but at this point I have to take profits to build cash flow.
That ES runner got stopped on a trailing stop at 4212.5

I have NQ runner still running with a 40pt trailer. It's a 100 pt runner now if it gets stopped.

It really depends on your desired risk/reward as well as your optimism/faith in the stock. But, keep in mind that whatever your choice is, you can always roll the CC to something different should circumstances change.

I chose the 8/20 $2.5, but if it runs and I want to ride it more I can always roll to the NOV $5.

There will be more of this "consolidation" in the Twin Cities. Once a biggie in Minneapolis let's loose, the go signal is sent to the rest. Seen this way to many times in the 13 years I lived there. If you got a job, hang on to it. There will be real estate available in this marketplace and others.

Don't need labor. .... Industry is finding ways to operate without these people who rather stay home. (I know that's a broad statement and does not encompass everyone that is truly trying to find employment.)

The trend to trade school versus traditional universities and colleges can also find its graduates with school debt if an economic slow down develops. Lose your job, well, that remodel will have to wait, etc.

General Mills cuts jobs, reshapes itself to prepare for post-pandemic change in eating
The Golden Valley-based food maker is cutting jobs at headquarters and streamlining business units as the outsized sales it saw during the pandemic come to an end.
By Kristen Leigh Painter Star Tribune JUNE 3, 2021 3:34PM

DAVID JOLES, STAR TRIBUNE
General Mills is downsizing its workforce to gird itself for post-pandemic changes in the ways people buy and eat food.

The Golden Valley-based food maker just finished its 2021 fiscal year, which was on pace to be one of its best for sales after people, forced to stay home by the coronavirus, ate more of its ready-made or easily prepared products.

But that burst in sales could reverse as the pandemic ends. General Mills executives are moving to lower costs, including cutting jobs, on the expectation that the company will return to the slow growth that was normal before the pandemic.

General Mills told investors in a securities filing last month that it would undertake a restructuring but gave few details on scope and cost. It was only last week that it became clear to employees that the restructuring, dubbed "Accelerate" internally, included layoffs.

"I know this isn't easy and that there are real world personal impacts in us making this shift. And last week was especially hard as we shared that reshaping our organization meant that many of our colleagues will be leaving General Mills," Jeff Harmening, the company's chief executive, told employees in a memo Tuesday.

Executives and directors learned their fate be it a promotion, layoff or status quo just before Memorial Day weekend, according to internal memos. Some were told they were losing their job at the same time their successor was named, employee e-mails showed. (Emphasis added by me)

The rest of General Mills' U.S. and Canada employees will find out whether their jobs will be saved or cut by the end of this month. International workforce cuts are targeted for the fall.

"I also want to be transparent: there are more hard decisions yet to come," Harmening wrote in the memo earlier this week. "Please know, none of these decisions are made lightly and we are striving to do all of this quickly and respectfully."

The company declined requests for a specific headcount reduction or cost-savings target.

"We are making organizational changes to ensure General Mills continues its momentum," Mollie Wulff, a company spokeswoman, said via e-mail. "The goal of this initiative is to free up resources from parts of our organization and redeploy them in more growth-focused areas, such as digital, data & technology, e-commerce, strategic revenue management, and other capabilities that are critical to our future success."

Harmening told investors at a conference in mid-May that the restructuring plan included changes to his leadership team. The company's Asia and Latin America segment president, Sean Walker, will also be responsible for Europe and Australia. Dana McNabb, who currently leads Europe and Australia, is being given a newly created title of chief strategy and growth officer.

Longtime chief supply chain officer John Church who led the unit through one of its most challenging years is being given a new title of chief transition officer and enterprise services officer.

Through the first nine months of the fiscal year, a period that ended February 28 and is the latest data available, General Mills' revenue was 8% higher than in the comparable period a year earlier. Typically, the company, which has around $17 billion in annual revenue, is considered to be having a good year when sales are up 1% to 2%.

The infusion of revenue during the pandemic allowed General Mills to reduce its debt. And the rise of grocery shopping and in-home eating brought sales from consumers who were new to its foods or those who hadn't eaten its products in awhile.

"We've come out of this pandemic stronger in a number of ways We are in a much stronger financial position," Harmening told investors last month.

Harmening told the investors he's "not really the main driver behind the reorganization" but called it "not simply a cost-cutting exercise." In the next month, General Mills will file an updated notice to securities regulators with financial details about the changes, he said.

North America retail, the company's largest and most important business that accounts for more than 60% of overall sales, is consolidating its five operating units into three. It is also closing its offices in Berkeley, Calif., and Austin, Texas, which have been home to two of its successful acquired brands, Annie's and Epic.

"While decisions like this are always difficult, the natural & organic space remains a strategic priority," Jon Nudi, president of North America retail, told employees in a memo last Friday.

Can we talk about averaging down for a minute?

Have some stuff from Q1 that I'm stuck on right now. With the correction / drop coming, feels like a good time (if there is one) to average down.

But having finished Master the Trade, Carter talks about averaging down being a fools errand. I know no method or concept is an absolute, but he makes the point multiple times in his book about how dumb averaging down like that is.

Thoughts?

BTW, I'm working off one data point which is being stuck on FUBO and just got green on it this week by buying at the low a few weeks back. So I know it can be done, but haven't been through a big drop like most folks think is coming.

Here in Houston something awesome happened the other day....anonymous donor gave San Jac comm college enough money to cover tuition for ALL high school graduates (~5,500) from the immediate 6-7 school districts. Gives the students 3 years to take classes with minimum of 6 hours a semester. They offer 1 year and 2 year plans that would give tons of kids great trade skills to jump into jobs in the area.....plant operator, welder, radiologist, etc.

talk about a heckuva deal that could be life changing if not for generations for hundreds to thousands!!
