Think of it as an indicator of bullish vs bearish investors. While it's good for their to be bullish sentiment, if every investor has all their money long it's much more likely for prices to go down than up. Basically there are no more bears to flip to bulls. Also when a dip or correction begins it will be sharper. That's way over simplified, but that's my basic understanding.

I think my favorite part of this AMC action is the fact that had I actually bought shares on Tuesday instead of saying "Holy crap! It's up to $14 now? Nowhere to go but down from here," I would be about to double my money.

Thought about these. Seems better to use shorter periods of time at lower strikes to accumulate more premium. But requires more work and attention. And of course higher risk of getting shares called away if the stock price runs up and you don't buy the calls back. Probably helps that my cost basis is under $1 so I'm ok if I get some shares called away at 1.50 or even $1. Just my rookie read based on my situation. I'm sure there are wiser folks than I around here that might disagree.

Basically just YOLO it. I bought one for fun -- can easily go to zero. Gotta imagine if this stock stays +50% on the day, there will be some ugly margin calls closer to 3-4pm ET and maybe a crazy AH run. Not sure how it would open tho tomorrow AM.

IF a fund is blowing up, I'd imagine they would have to liquidate their other short positions as well. This could be a hunt for their other positions and we may see call buying / spike in other heavily shorted names here.
