Made a quick 17% on PLTR this morning. Bought at $16 and change sold over $19 and change. I already have enough PLTR in a long-term acct this one was just for fun.
TICK -1200, VIX way above it's 10day SMA....Fear is so high right now........

Just an observation, last 2 times SPY opened below 8 & 21 EMA /VMAs it went up and touched the 21 and then eventually broke below 50 day VMA. 1/29/21 & 3/4/21. Also 1/30/21 but it rebounded off the 50 day to close at the 21 EMA.
The gap is also much larger between 21 & 50 day then those previous days though there is little volume in the 397-407 range.

I'm interested in Larry Connors' book "Short Term Trading Strategies that Work" and while I don't have it now, I found somebody who did a book notes on it.....if you're interested there are some NICE setups in here you can choose to use or not, or research, or whatever.

And in searching for Linda Raschke's "Momentum Pinball" explanation, I came across this little site that wants you to subscribe to their automated trading service; however, they list out 80 different setups that are preprogrammed into their system......you can click on each setup and it is described in detail.McInnis 03 said:

Bought some SPY 5/14 $415 calls this morning.
I'm keeping it simple. Added an additional 20 shares to TQQQ pre market to my position and loving the results so so far.
I dropped out of PLTR (in at 26 and out at 24). I didn't lose much and probably should have backed the truck up this morning but went with the broader market.

How we doing? I have been blurry eyed scalping...trying anyway.
I just went from 25% cash to 75% cash this morning, including closing my shares of WWR and CLOV. I still belieive in them long term, but they were too much of my account size and I want to wait until the market settles a bit and picks a direction before I get back in. I'd been able to sell some CC's on the recent rips but with my job I can't always time them right.
I will get back in them but will make them a smaller percentage of my portfolio going forward and will try and get better about Carter's philosophy of when to cut my other losers. With my job I can't really have too many options plays open so I'll keep more of my focus on LEAPs unless I can find time for some solid short term plays.
