What are they? Most indicators are backwards looking and are only useful for scanning against. In my opinion the only things that really matter are the setup, where the price is relative to the mean, and volume.

I love the people that practically crap themselves over things like VWAP and RSI. Literally every trader looks at those. They're better than the buy the news traders, though.

One seems to be the "Holy grail" setup.....combines say a 5 minute chart, an adx over thirty, and a 20sma touch

To your point, there are so many potential catalysts. I can't get over the moral hazard where it's more profitable to be on government benefits than to work. That ain't right.

I was asking myself a similar question to this.
I think it's the former, but it may affect the new retail investor in terms of rotation into legit projects.
Made my first Cardano purchase this week.
I also did a deep dive on IBM (relevant to this thread) and where their current Blockchain investments are up to it's close to a Billion from what I read. I invested some more into them and their VAI project.

Trying to establish my Plan A trading plan for tomorrow. My approach to start the week will be to continue to scalp SPY at support/resistance lines. I will also scalp some options in FAANG and others as setups work out.
I am riding 5/14 420Ps into the morning carrying over from Friday late buy.
My thoughts are and wish is ....
- We rejected right at my long-term trend line (red).
- I think we will back test at least with a flash 419.15ish range at some point. Convergence of support/resistance line with mid-term upward trend line (yellow). Lose that and...
- 418.26ish would be MT between Thursday and Friday time frame. Lose that....
- 417.63 I think will be key to not lose. If we do....
- Should we lose 416.34ish which has been a major line for me trading and I think this momentum up is lost for May.
- Would love to see some degree of back test then consolidation above 420 and continuation above 422.82
What's up with AMD? Is this a reflection of the microchip problems? All four EMA are converging around $80 with AMD closing below the 200 all of last week. Going to be an interesting week or two for this one.

The 30day EMA / MOD-RSI shows this stock consistently hitting 70 trans line on the way up. It's not there yet - so if it is consistent (ha!) it should continue to go up a bit.

Now that I dig into it I think I may work on weekly calls/puts for Qs as well. Qs will be key this week and could be a lot of fun. PSA - These are often quick trades and not for everyone.
These are levels as I see them anyway. Weeklies for me I am often in and out of rather quick and don't tend to hold. I would rather make more smaller winning trades than risk turning a winner to loser. Often you can sell and buy back lower than your sell price at pivots. If not the momentum is really going.
- Lose the descending trendline (which is also the 21EMA) probably an easy quick put play for 332,330 or 326s.
- Back test and continuation up for me it would be 336 or 340 calls calls which it has to get through 336.84ish and not reject that IMO.

Morning all....
- Mixed futures around with ES slightly green and NQ slightly red.
- VIX rising slightly from Friday's close at 17.45
- SKEW is high at 145.76
- SPY has a little room to 426 if it wants to hit +3 ATR though.
- Qs, tech on watch for me to hold the downtrend breakout. Feels weak to me.
Not that we shouldn't always be but think flexibility is my theme for today and this week. Be flexible to switch game plans as the market determines, trade the trend and try to refrain from going upstream from the money flow.
My goal to improve on this week is to have less patience for losers and exit trades quickly that have gone against me. Can always buy back in once confirmed as its not a sin to do so.
Read an article with the math paper losses are 2X more likely to become reality than not when a trade has gone against you.
Trade wisely and don't be this guy this week....

IMO if breaks that resistance should have room to $274 then high of $277+.
Mining and materials types seem to have some pop to them early PM.
