I am not planning to take this, but for this friday, if I were going to do an AMZN lotto, it would be 3700/4000 for $9.

An $AMZN iron condor for Friday with 3700/3740 on call credit side and 3300/3260 on the put credit side is $8 in credit. Risking 4 to make 1, but very high probability of working out.

a 3350/3300 put credit spread is $10 in premium, also risking 4 to make 1.

Here's an interesting question for those better at this -

APHA and TLRY are merging (announced December). The transaction doesn't appear to be finalized from what I can find.

Currently apha is at 15.92, TLRY at 19.20.

APHA shareholders will get .8381 shares of TLRY per share of APHA they have.

19.20 * .8381 = 16.10.

Not a huge spread (18 cents) but it looks like it would be profitable right now to buy into APHA for the conversion.

I can't find other details of when the merger will be final or when you have to have the APHA shares buy to get the TLRY shares.

Thoughts?

Very smart people are involved in merger arbitrage strategies, and there is no easy money. The best I can say is that playing merger-arbitrage gives you a position that is not correlated to the market.

Honestly I think they're all trash pump and dumps but that's why I have a few hundy on it and not thousands

Let's talk earnings for idiots...

I choose to make trades on every stock that beats earnings yet tanks the next day. What am I missing and what other things should I be looking for?

Example... TSLA, APPL, GOOGL (amongst others) all had earnings this week. I choose to take a flyer on TSLA. They beat earnings, and stock price goes down and I lose money. AAPL and GOOGL do the opposite, and of course I didn't play it and many of you have fruit in your face (congrats!). This isn't the first time I go red on earnings, so just wondering what I am doing wrong.

Don't play earnings lol. No but seriously the past year the market does the opposite of what it should. Best way to play it is get the run up into earning and sell before the announcement

SPY Calls

I plan to take the profits on the SPY 5/7 420C scalp/swing adds I put on late yesterday on the first push today and that may be at open.

They should be close to double+ if this holds and has any push up.

Then onto next trade.

Agree. I'll take it just the same. 2x, 3x, 4x all the same to me.

Sooner or later I suppose one of these will be a real rocket.

Lots of setups out there but here is one possibility.

Maybe watch this one. Had a week of move up and flagging and is opening above the 50 with multiple cross overs on MAs, MACD, SAR, etc. Could be primed for little run back to MT.

Pretty good resistance around $28.50ish but back to MT at about $32 is possible with a breakout.

May 30c might be a play with confirmation.

I did exit to preserve some of my gains. was in it since last year and had been writing calls the entire time. I'll be keeping an eye on it and also may now enter some cheap calls since earnings is today.

I don't know much about their performance. Do you know if they have been doing well or a potential positive earnings outlook?

Maybe someone knows with the volume that has come in the past week and held. May just be an earnings run up but doesn't look that way.

Might be better for June calls. Has weekly as well.
