That is super neat. Thanks for sharing.Farmer @ Johnsongrass, TX said:
MFR - If looking at early 80's, keep in mind they were built for the 55 MPH speed limit, if you have not considered that. Find a real nice 80's and install a GearVendor Electronic Overdrive (about $2,700 installed). You tear up a GearVendor, I'll let you autograph my Stetson ElCampeon. You can do 70 MPH with no problem (...and without the engine screaming) or turn it off and revert to factory equipment and use the overdrive when you want. I never shut mine off. Or, if you pull, you can treat it like the old Hi/Lo switch on the floor shift. Didn't mean to derail, but thought important enough to send as an FYI.
With a Clinton on the board... it'll be a ten year guaranteed multi-billion dollar exclusive contract to be the provider for some project.PWestAg18 said:

why 80's? looking to avoid fuel injection and anything electronic? I drove an 85 suburban in high school. It could take anything you threw at it and of course had a 350 in it, parts available anywhere.Mostly Foggy Recollection said:
If you have an car with an electrical system in it (most do), the dirty secret is yes.
Most cars in the past several years have GPS built in with communication devices embedded in case of emergency. If needed, they are easily found.
I've recently been looking at early 80s mechanical model trucks for our ranch and for my main transport. They are more difficult to drive and ride rougher, but if our country decides it wants more police state, totalitarian idiots running the show, it's not a bad idea.
The fact that our Gov keeps peddling Covid fear, debating banning cigarettes, and heavily curtailing crypto trading tells me all I need to know. Those of you in the middle class and lower better figure out how to get out of it, and quickly. They very much want to keep you on the plantation with a low floor and a low ceiling.
All in the name of safety, of course...
Or what's funny is the shock and horror at it being wired into your car now when Apple and Google have been doing it for over a decade with cell phones.Mostly Foggy Recollection said:
Yeah, it's not just Tesla..... not sure why anyone is surprised by it. We've had cars that can be monitored and hacked for some time now.

Looks like Cramer mentioned it on Fast Money yesterday noting huge short position so WSB and other reddit traffic is up by a quick scan of $MVIS on twitter.Prognightmare said:
