Need more context. Way too many things can occur in any of those chart timelines. I've gone back as far as five years when charting major macro spots.

I typically look at 2 days on 1 minute steps, 10 days on a 30 minute step, I have 1 mo and 3 mo daily charts, and two 1 yr charts showing daily and weekly. I'll expand and zoom those as needed.

Men's Freshman of the Week: Devon Achane, Texas A&M
Texas A&M's Devon Achane won the Willie Williams Classic 200m with a collegiate personal best time of 20.76. He is currently ranked No. 1 in the SEC and No. 2 in the NCAA.

----------

This past weekend, the Texas A&M track team competed in the Willie Williams Classic in Tucson, Ariz. And Achane had a very strong showing. In fact, the freshman won the 200-meter title with a time of 20.76 seconds. That was not only good enough to win the meet but it currently ranks as the best mark in the SEC so far this season and the No. 2 time in the entire NCAA. For his efforts, Achane was named the SEC Track and Field Men's Freshman of the Week.

------

Achane will run fast through many holes next season.

Gotcha. Actually I've never even traded IWM and have only been trading SPY and Qs. But this may be a candidate now and will take a look in the morning. Sometime pullbacks like today there can be great opportunities.

Thanks for the idea!

IWM, anticipating buying after that morning dip tomorrow.

Looking at the daily chart, it's time to eat.

Edit: Of course waiting for an accelerated bottom to jump in.

A few charts I'm looking into later on lower p/e large caps: KR, DBSDY, KO, and CVS. I'm looking for places for easier trading while waiting for the yields to stabilize and the markets to pick a decision.

5 and 10 year bond yields going down right, but is AUD/JPY. AH and SPY futures really flat after the drop to end the trading day. Who knows what happens overnight but if this holds we get a bit of a bounce back from growth stocks but overall the market has another down day?

Morning Gents....

Woke up to red futures. Now things trying to be green for us looking to be led by tech. Pop to open followed by a fade? We shall see.

SPY at 390.94
Qs at 320.00
IWM at 218.46 (might as well add this one)
SKEW above 140 at 143.44

So from 3AM to 4:30AM this is the first GIF that came to mind for today. I present to you the markets for March 24th, 2021 (with the exception of an omitted down option)

Trade wisely!

Thoughts on CIDM potential? It looks like it may be looking to complete a long C&H back to June 2020 around $3 (but I'm not a charter)?

I'm sitting on net free shares and trying to decide what to do with them.

Macro Commentary

Japanese Buying of Treasuries/Corporates Sends Bonds Higher Initially...Reverses

Overnight we saw a large amount of buying of treasuries and corporates out of Japan... 10 years rallied to 1.59 and Long bonds to 2.29, breaking important technical levels of 1.625 and 2.34, respectively, but they could not hold onto the gains... We also saw ,during the same time frame, large amount of offerings wanted of US corporates in both the intermediate and long space, where one broker estimated 768 million from Japanese lifers and others... All of that has reversed in London time... Two things were happening in the 2-4 am time frame... The Suez Canal was closed due to a ship getting wedged into the Canal due to a sandstorm... And second the reversal of the Easter holiday lockdown in Germany...but the positions and risk in the Treasury and Corporate bond markets are large , even with the short covering in 10 year futures of close to 7.5 billion worth of 10 years in the last few days.... And the huge amount of options written in the last 24 hours expecting a stabilization of the bear move in treasuries this year.

Rates... We said Monday and Tuesday that we expected some of the shorts to cover and treasuries to rally... That we are in a window of quarter end buying for treasuries due to reallocation trades... We so far are correct..10 years have gone from 1.76 to 1.59 overnight, currently back to 1.625... We think 1.47 could be the top of this range... The amount of treasuries that need to be bought for reallocation is over 41 billion... And even higher for corporate buying of 44 billion...this window closes on March 31, which is also Japanese year end... There will be a war in rates around 1.625 10 years and 2.34 bonds...We have seen over 9 Billion of short covering in the 10 year and longer space in the last 24 hours.

Equities rallied at 4 am this morning with nice gains across the board of about half the losses we saw at the end of the day yesterday... Part of the catalyst mentioned above was the reversal of the technical losses in crude we saw yesterday, mainly due to the closing of the Suez... Which ships over 600000 to 800000 barrels of oil a day... BB has a story that Russian oil is making a comeback at US refining ports... Seems like unusual bedfellows... Nonetheless crude is back above the 50 day moving average of 58.75.

Fed... Kaplan was much more interesting than the Powell/Yellen testimony in front of the House yesterday... Given how much the country has moved to Zoom, one would think the Secretary and the Chair would know how to take their mute button off and that the technicians of the House could more smoothly manage their Zoom... Nonetheless we did not hear anything new except that Yellen is not going to change the debt mix in the near term...Kaplan of Dallas, an ex Goldman guy and one of the few markets people on the Fed, said he expects 10 years to hit the 1.75-2% range... Tapering talks will start this year and the Fed will raise rates in 2022... That was a clear statement of how he is thinking... Good to see some controversy within the Fed, among respectable market controversy,as the Fed explores a road it has never seen... One can't keep saying the same strategy with many moving parts.
